Recap by phillip woo

Cheer Win finished strongly near the outside after settling second last to win going away inside the final 50m. The blinkers have done the trick and he might be able to ring up another before season's end. Very Rich Man kept on gamely after being hustled along to sit one off in third from a tricky gate. Favourite Lucky Lucky handed up the front to Ocean Roar approaching the 600m after finding the fence from a wide gate, reclaimed the lead 150m out and was swamped in deep stretch. Flying Monkey stayed on well after a deep run in midfield from an awkward gate to fill a Quartet spot. He'll have to be kept safe when drawing an inside gate. Thou Shall Sing made a steady bid from midfield without menacing in his Valley debut after two pleasing Sha Tin runs. Raichu only plodded following a prominent run on the fence. The return to Class Four was too much. Dashing Gainer acted up in the gate and was withdrawn with money coming for him late.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three: (670) - DEAUVILLE AUGUST YEARLING SALES HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters

PEACE COMBINATION was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore with a swollen knee).

Before being allowed to race again, PEACE COMBINATION will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

After being loaded into the barriers, DASHING GAINER reared and got its front legs over the front gates of its own and the adjoining stall.

DASHING GAINER was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was not suitable to race.

Acting on this advice, DASHING GAINER was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.

Having regard to DASHING GAINER's recent history in respect of its barrier manners, the Stewards ruled that that horse must barrier trial satisfactorily and be subjected to an official veterinary examination prior to its next race start.

SURE SUPREME began only fairly.

CHEER WIN was crowded for room on jumping between VERY RICH MAN and THOU SHALL SING which shifted out.

DOMINATOR was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.

Passing the 600 Metres, THOU SHALL SING commenced to travel keenly and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of VERY RICH MAN.

Then making the turn after the 600 Metres, THOU SHALL SING got its head on the side and shifted out, resulting in FLYING MONKEY, which for the majority of the race travelled wide and without cover, being taken wider.

After this, THOU SHALL SING continued to lay out.

Approaching and passing the 150 Metres, NASHASHUK was steadied when held up for clear running inside DOMINATOR and behind OCEAN ROAR which was giving ground.

NASHASHUK was then shifted out approaching the 100 Metres to obtain clear running.

Approaching and passing the 100 Metres, SURE SUPREME was held up for clear running behind OCEAN ROAR which continued to weaken.

A veterinary inspection of OCEAN ROAR and NASHASHUK immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

LUCKY LUCKY, CHEER WIN and VERY RICH MAN were sent for sampling.
