Racing Incident Report
Race Three: (767)-SILVER GRECIAN HANDICAP (Sec1) - Class 4 - 1200Metres
MODERN FORTUNE was crowded for room a short distance after the start inside CIRCUIT KING which shifted in before being directed out to relieve the tightening to MODERN FORTUNE.In this incident, MODERN FORTUNE bumped the hindquarters of WINNER ST PAUL'S which in turn shifted in and bumped GLORIOUS SUN.
Shortly after the start, N Rawiller (VICTORIUS) dropped his whip.
From the outside barrier, ST YAZIN was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
AMBITIOUS SPEEDY was also steadied in the early stages to obtain a position with cover.
Making the first turn approaching the 1000 Metres, MODERN FORTUNE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of CONFUCIUS SPIRIT.
A short distance after this, CONFUCIUS SPIRIT shifted in and bumped WINNER ST PAUL'S.
For some distance approaching the 400 Metres, GLORIOUS SUN raced in restricted room inside CONFUCIUS SPIRIT.
Passing the 300 Metres, ST YAZIN was shifted to the outside of MODERN FORTUNE after being disappointed for running between that horse and FIVE STARS AGENT which was taken out by VICTORIUS.
Passing the 200 Metres, G Lerena (CONFUCIUS SPIRIT) dropped his whip.
A veterinary inspection of CLEVER SPIRIT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
CIRCUIT KING and CONFUCIUS SPIRIT were sent for sampling.

Favourite Circuit King was on his tippy toes late after cornering two lengths on top but did hold off Confucius Spirit and Victorious by the slimmest of margins for a first win at his 14th start following eight earlier placings. Confucius Spirit finished nicely one off the fence after travelled fore of midfield to make it a thriller on the wire. Victorious unleased a good burst in the final 100m after angled into the open five deep at the 250m following a patient ride fifth from the back in an improved run with a drop in grade. Modern Fortune swung the final bend with three wider out following a one off run beyond midfield and ran on steadily to finish a non-threatening fourth. St Yazin made his run at the back from a wide gate, switched into the open with two wider out soon after straightening and ran on without menacing. Clever Spirit eased back after failing to match the winner's speed to travel one off in third, straightened three deep and was stopping 100m out. Ambitious Speedy made some ground widest out without menacing after travelling third from the rear. Pearl Win got going with the race was all but over after travelling second from the back. Specked late Winner St Paul's didn't let down with one wider out after travelling third from the rear.
