Racing Incident Report
Race Six: (770)-SWEET ORANGE HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Metres
As the start was effected, OCEAN ROAR lifted its front feet off the ground and consequently began only fairly.OCEAN ROAR then lost further ground when crowded for room between AMAZING RACE which shifted in after being bumped by EXCEL ONESELF and BEAUTY CONNECTION which was taken out by FISH N' CHIPS which got its head on the side and shifted out despite the efforts of its rider.
GOLDEN ACHIEVER was slow to begin.
THOR THE GREATEST lost its left front plate shortly after the start.
Approaching the 700 Metres, THOR THE GREATEST was steadied away from the heels of MOMENT OF POWER (Apprentice K K Chiong) which shifted in when not properly clear.
Apprentice Chiong, in the presence of her allocated trainer, Mr K W Lui, was severely reprimanded and told that she must address this aspect of her riding in future.
After the 700 Metres, TOP BONUS was awkwardly placed outside the heels of FISH N' CHIPS.
At the entrance to the Straight, FISH N' CHIPS and OUR FOLKS raced tight.
Near the 250 Metres, EXCEL ONESELF was directed out away from TOP BONUS which shifted out to obtain clear running.
Passing the 100 Metres, AMAZING RACE was shifted to the outside of SKY MAN after being disappointed for running between that horse and OUR FOLKS.
Throughout the race, OUR FOLKS travelled wide and without cover.
MOMENT OF POWER and FISH N' CHIPS were sent for sampling.

Favourite Moment Of Power enjoyed an uncontested lead, cornered two lengths on top and drew clear under a feather weight for a second win from five starts despite a rise in class. Fish N'Chips came on four deep upon straightening following a handy run with cover to just edge rank outsider Beauty Connection for second. Beauty Connection closed off nicely three deep following a rails run in midfield for a placing in a vastly-improved run. Top Bonus settled one off the fence behind midfield from a wide gate, forced Excel Onself very wide when pulling out for a clear run at the 220m and finished off well to fill a Quartet spot. Sky Man was posted deep with cover in midfield from the widest gate, swung the final bend furthest out and kept grinding away to pick up a pay cheque. Our Folks only held his ground over the final 150m following a prominent run without cover. Sensationally-backed, debutant Amazing Race made some ground four from the right without menacing after travelling second from the rear. He needs a longer trip. Thor The Greatest was stopping badly 100m out after stalking the leader one off the fence.
