Racing Incident Report
Race Three: (577)-WESTLANDS ROAD HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Metres
MR GINGER was withdrawn prior to Race 1 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (capped left elbow).Before being allowed to race again, MR GINGER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
MASSIVE MILLENNIUM bounded in the air at the start and lost ground.
SHOW MISSION was slow to begin.
BABA MAMA began awkwardly.
GREAT JOY began awkwardly and shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of SILVER GATSBY which shifted in.
Then, from a wide barrier, GREAT JOY was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Shortly after the start, WAYFOONG VINNIE was steadied when crowded for room between MASTER VIKING and IDYLLIC WIND which shifted out.
A short distance after this, IDYLLIC WIND continued to shift out and bumped MASTER VIKING which was shifting in.
After being ridden along in the early stages, VICTOR EMPEROR was momentarily steadied away from the heels of NEVER BETTER near the 1150 Metres.
After this, VICTOR EMPEROR was left racing wide and got its head up when being steadied in an attempt to obtain cover near the 1000 Metres.
However, after the 900 Metres, VICTOR EMPEROR was left racing wide and without cover.
VICTOR EMPEROR made the Home Turn awkwardly.
At the entrance to the Straight, Y T Cheng (SHOW MISSION) dropped his whip.
WAYFOONG VINNIE had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight and approaching and passing the 200 Metres was steadied when held up behind SILVER GATSBY.
WAYFOONG VINNIE was then unable to obtain clear running until near the 150 Metres.
After the race, K C Ng (IDYLLIC WIND) advised that his mount was inclined to lay away from the rail for the majority of the race.
A veterinary inspection of VICTOR EMPEROR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of BABA MAMA immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.
MASTER VIKING and NEVER BETTER were sent for sampling.

Favourite Master Viking enjoyed an easy time on the lead, straightened three lengths on top and just held off the late surge of Never Better for a fourth straight win with the all-important 10-pound claim of Kei Cheong Ka-kei. Never Better finished nicely four deep following a one-out, one-back run to chalk up a fourth minor placing from four starts over this Valley trip. Massive Millennium finished willingly six deep after travelling fourth from the rear to snatch a placing from Wayfoong Vinnie in an improved run with a drop in grade. Wayfoong Vinnie easily into the open five deep soon after straightening following a rail's run in midfield and closed off steadily to just miss a placing. He too enjoyed the class drop. Silver Gatsby grudgingly gave way over the final 100m after settling second in the run from a wide gate. Idyllic Wind stayed to the inside upon straightening following a box-seat run and came up one-paced over the last 100m. He had his chance. Great Joy was getting going late down the outside after travelling second from the rear. He's crying out for a longer trip. Specked late, Ten Speed only held his ground after a rails run behind midfield. Victor Emperor was a non-factor soon after straightening following a deep run without cover the entire trip travelling behind midfield.
