Japan's Maurice travelled one off the fence in midfield, swung the final bend with two wider out and rallied nicely to take control 100m out and stamp himself as the top miler in Asia. Giant Treasure settled midfield along the rails, stayed near the inside upon straightening and responded well after splitting the leaders 200m out to overhaul favourite Able Friend close to home for second in an improved run with a gear change. Able Friend settled on the back of Maurice, swung the final bend widest out, worked to the lead 150m out and peaked on his run 50m out. Specked at odds, Esoterique travelled worse than midfield on the rail, rallied five deep and stayed on reasonably well to add some value to the Quartet. Well-punted late, Contentment settled one off in second from a wide gate, rallied four deep with every chance and came up flat in the last 100m. Beauty Flame handed up the lead to sit in the box-seat behind Secret Sham, worked to the front 350m out and was yielding ground 100m out. Danon Platina settled third from the rear, straightened three deep and had to steady when making a good bid approaching the 100m. He should have gone closer. Romantic Touch faded following a handy run along the fence.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (250)-THE LONGINES HONG KONG MILE - Group One - 1600Metres

RED DUBAWI was slow to begin.

Both SECRET SHAM and DANON PLATINA began awkwardly.

TOORMORE shifted in at the start and bumped ROMANTIC TOUCH.

From the outside barriers, REWARDING HERO and MONDIALISTE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

R Moore (MAURICE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 1400 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of ABLE FRIEND, causing that horse to be checked when taken in across the heels of ESOTERIQUE and for DANON PLATINA which was racing to the inside of ABLE FRIEND to be hampered.

R Moore was suspended from riding in races with immediate effect (4 Hong Kong racedays) and to expire on Monday, 28 December 2015 at which date a period of suspension incurred at the Happy Valley racemeeting last Wednesday is due to commence.

Near the 1100 Metres, MONDIALISTE got its head up when travelling keenly and momentarily racing in restricted room inside DANON PLATINA which when also racing keenly was crowded for room inside REWARDING HERO (H Bowman) which shifted in.

H Bowman was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he leaves comfortable racing room for runners to his inside in similar circumstances.

GIANT TREASURE was unable to obtain clear running until near the 250 Metres.

Approaching the 200 Metres, DANON PLATINA was bumped by FIERO which in turn was bumped by SECRET SHAM.

FIERO was unable to obtain clear running until approaching the 100 Metres.

Approaching the 100 Metres, DANON PLATINA was held up for clear running and shifted out away from the heels of initially CONTENTMENT and then ESOTERIQUE.

Because of this, DANON PLATINA was not able to be properly tested over the concluding stages.

Close to the finishing line, ESOTERIQUE and CONTENTMENT raced tight.

Throughout the race, TOORMORE travelled wide and without cover.

ABLE FRIEND, MAURICE and GIANT TREASURE were sent for sampling.
