Racing Incident Report
Race Two: (020)-DONGGUAN HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1400Metres
LIGHTNING AND GOLD was crowded for room on jumping between BEST FIGHTER and FISHKING THUNDER which shifted out.In this incident, LIGHTNING AND GOLD bumped the hindquarters of BEST FIGHTER which became unbalanced.
Shortly after the start, FISHKING THUNDER (R Fourie) commenced to buck.
R Fourie stated that as a consequence his saddle shifted back, causing him further difficulty.
FISHKING THUNDER then continued to buck for a considerable distance, resulting in the horse losing a significant amount of ground and tailing off.
A veterinary inspection of FISHKING THUNDER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The racing manners of FISHKING THUNDER were considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, FISHKING THUNDER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial.
From a wide barrier, HIGH SPEED METRO was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Passing the 400 Metres, BEST FIGHTER, which was shifting out, was momentarily steadied away from the heels of BRILLIANT MONKEYS which was racing tight inside LIGHTNING AND GOLD.
Near the 350 Metres, BRILLIANT MONKEYS briefly raced in restricted room between GOLDWEAVER and LIGHTNING AND GOLD.
Near the 250 Metres, BRILLIANT MONKEYS was steadied away from the heels of LIGHTNING AND GOLD (B Prebble) which shifted in when being ridden out.
B Prebble was severely reprimanded and advised to ensure that, in similar circumstances, he does not ride his mounts in such a manner so as to allow them to shift ground and cause interference to other runners.
A veterinary inspection of THE PALADIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GOLDWEAVER, HIGH SPEED METRO and JACK'S GEM were sent for sampling.

High Speed Metro settled well back in the run, straightened four deep, angled into the open with one wider out at the 300m and just got up from Jack's Gem 100m out for the win despite better form over a longer trip. Jack's Gem ran on nicely with two wider out after travelling one off the fence behind midfield in an improved run following a stable change. Lightning And Gold drew level for the lead four from the right at the 200m following a midfield run with cover but found a couple too smart in the end. Plunged late, Travel Master led one off from a wide gate, cornered a length on top and grudgingly gave way approaching the 100m. Brilliant Monkeys made some ground following a handy run. Favourite Goldweaver strolled forward from a wide gate to sit one off in second at the 800m and came up flat in the run to the wire. The Paladin was stopping under the whip 200m out following a box-seat run. Fishking Thunder may have had equipment issues and was never involved.
