Racing Incident Report
Race One: (616)-CAMELLIA HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Metres
BLISS CARTEL and DIAMOND ANGEL were slow to begin and shortly after the start, from wide barriers, were shifted across behind runners.PRINCE OF SUNSHINE began awkwardly.
For some distance after the start, DRAGON ENERGY and EASY AHEAD raced tight.
Then near the 900 Metres, DRAGON ENERGY was steadied when tightened for room between EASY AHEAD and JOY TOGETHER which shifted in.
Despite being ridden along after the 700 Metres, PALEPALE was unable to maintain its position inside SUPER KING STAR.
A veterinary inspection of PALEPALE immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, PALEPALE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Near the 200 Metres, MIGHTY GAINS was awkwardly placed outside HELEN'S CHOICE which drifted out under pressure before being corrected by its rider.
After the race, Z Purton stated that he was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of DRAGON ENERGY.
A veterinary inspection of DRAGON ENERGY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Also after the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that SUPER KING STAR had sustained a cut to the left front pastern.
DRAGON ENERGY, EASY AHEAD and SUPER KING STAR were sent for sampling.

Easy Ahead shifted into the open with two wider out soon after straightening following a rail's run fourth from the rear and closed off willingly to claim victory 20m out to chalk one up for the old timers. Super King Star travelled fifth and one off the rails, advanced to the front five deep at the 150m and was swallowed up late with a drop into Class Five. Prince Of Sunshine was posted deep near the back, made his move 800m out to sit midfield coming to the final bend with three wider out and ran on nicely to grab a placing in the final few metres. He too was suited by a drop in class and is crying out for a mile. Novel Start was pushed forward from a wide gate to eventually find the lead from Mighty Gains at the 700m, cornered near two lengths on top and was giving ground over the final 100m. Mighty Gains handed up to settle second in the run along the paint, was forced four deep at the 150m by Helen's Choice when trying to pull out for a run and kept on evenly over the last 100m. Joy Together settled behind midfield along the rails, angled into the open five deep at the 250m and made some ground without menacing. Favourite Dragon Energy produced an insignificant bid late.
