Recap by phillip woo

Harbour Punk settled midfield and one off the rails following a sluggish break from a tricky gate, rounded the final bend six deep and closed willingly to take control 50m out for a third win from six outings as the post-time favourite. You Read My Mind pulled hard on the lead, cornered two lengths on top and kept up a good gallop only to find one better on the evening. It was a terrific effort after setting a strong tempo. Plunged late, Victorius settled near the back, swung the final bend widest out and just out-finished early favourite Disciples Twelve for a placing. Disciples Twelve settled behind midfield and one off the rails, swung the final bend with two wider out and was running on reasonably well to make it close for a placing. Punted late, Silly Buddies made only a mild bid along the inside after a ground saving trip in midfield. Regency King made his run outside Victorious second from the rear, swung the final bend wides out and got going when the race was all but over. All Great Friends had every chance on the back of the speed and didn't have anything in the tank. Imperial Champion punched the breeze in second, straightened three deep and was stopping 150m out. Fabulous November badly missed the kick and was never a factor.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six: (510)-ACCLAIM HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Metres

After being loaded, FABULOUS NOVEMBER became very fractious and as the start was effected got its head up and began very awkwardly, resulting in the horse losing a considerable amount of ground and D Lane, its rider, becoming badly unbalanced.

In this incident, D Lane's saddle slipped back noticeably and because of this FABULOUS NOVEMBER took no active part in the race.

The performance of FABULOUS NOVEMBER was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, FABULOUS NOVEMBER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

HARBOUR PUNK began only fairly.

Approaching the 800 Metres, BULLISH FRIEND got its head on the side, lay in away from IMPERIAL CHAMPION and made contact with ALL GREAT FRIENDS which became unbalanced.

Near the 450 Metres, DISCIPLES TWELVE was awkwardly placed inside the heels of HARBOUR PUNK.

Near the 400 Metres, REGENCY KING was steadied out away from the heels of VICTORIUS which shifted to the outside of DISCIPLES TWELVE to improve.

For some distance after the 200 Metres, BULLISH FRIEND was steadied away from the heels of IMPERIAL CHAMPION when held up for clear running behind that horse which was giving ground.

Throughout the race, SIGHT BELIEVER travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, N Callan (ALL GREAT FRIENDS) reported that his mount travelled well during the race, however, when placed under pressure did not respond to his riding.

He added he had suggested to connections that they consider giving ALL GREAT FRIENDS a let-up following tonight's disappointing performance as the horse raced flat over the concluding stages.

A veterinary inspection of ALL GREAT FRIENDS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection of IMPERIAL CHAMPION immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

HARBOUR PUNK and YOU READ MY MIND were sent for sampling.
