The incident happened on Friday when Ahmad Nor Al Faizan Jusoh, 47, who has learning difficulties, lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a roadside noodle stall.

The suspects, which included the vendor, responded by attacking Ahmad, and smeared oily noodles on his face. One of them kicked Ahmad in the face as he tried to clean himself with rainwater.

Video of the assault went viral over the weekend and caused widespread anger, not only at the attack itself, but also at the bystanders in the crowded market area who failed to intervene. The victim, who was carrying a Malaysian Department of Social Welfare card confirming his disability, received no help during the incident.

Kemaman Acting District Police Chief Wan Muhamad Wan Ja’afar told local media that the latest arrest, a man in his 30s, was made on Sunday evening.

“So far, four men have been arrested, including three men aged between 18 and 60, on the day of the incident to assist in the investigation,” Wan Muhamad reportedly said.
