Racing Incident Report
Race One : (728) - MOUNT BUTLER HANDICAP - Class 5 - 2200Meters
Horse No 1 STORM RUNNER (J452) E C W Wong In the middle stages raced keenly.
Near the 1500 Metres was eased to avoid GO GO GO when that runner was racing tight to the inside of SUPER TREASURE.
Approaching the 450 Metres was bumped by JOYFUL CHAMPION which shifted out.
As a result STORM RUNNER then raced tight between SUPER TREASURE and LEATHER MASTER for some distance.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 GO GO GO (H196) A Atzeni After the event A Atzeni stated that his mount enjoyed a good run during the race, however, near the 600 Metres when MR ALADDIN improved to his outside his mount came under pressure and did not finish the race off thereafter.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 FLYING SILVER (E478) J Orman From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 4 THE WAY WE WIN (J493) Y L Chung Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 5 U S S CONSTITUTION (H357) B Avdulla Jumped only fairly and then was bumped by SUPER TREASURE which shifted in.
Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when positioned close to GOLDEN FAIRY.
Horse No 6 SUPER HONG KONG (D241) K Teetan For some distance in the early stages was crowded for room when racing tight to the inside of STORM RUNNER which was in turn racing tight to the inside of GO GO GO (A Atzeni).
A Atzeni was severely reprimanded and advised that he must provide sufficient racing room for runners to his inside.
Horse No 7 COLOURFUL BARON (G301) M Chadwick After the event M Chadwick reported that from the outside barrier he was instructed to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages.
Horse No 8 SUPER TREASURE (J211) K C Leung Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
M L Yeung (JOYFUL CHAMPION) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 450 Metres he improved into a position between STORM RUNNER and SUPER TREASURE where there was not sufficient room to do so, resulting in JOYFUL CHAMPION then racing tight to the inside of STORM RUNNER and resulting in SUPER TREASURE being checked when it lost its rightful running.
M L Yeung was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 25 June 2025 and to expire on Sunday, 29 June 2025 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).
In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his neutral race riding record.
The performance of SUPER TREASURE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, SUPER TREASURE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 MR ALADDIN (H386) Z Purton Shifted out soon after the start and was bumped.

Horse No 11 LEATHER MASTER (H034) A Badel After the event A Badel stated that his mount jumped only fairly and was then hampered when crowded by MR ALADDIN which shifted out which resulted in his mount settling further back than intended.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 JOYFUL CHAMPION (G072) M L Yeung M L Yeung was found guilty of a careless riding charge for causing interference approaching the 450 Metres (see SUPER TREASURE).
Approaching the 450 Metres improved into a run where there was insufficient room and as a result became unbalanced when racing tight between STORM RUNNER and SUPER TREASURE.
Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running behind GO GO GO.

Leather Master making his run from second-last from gate 10 quickened nicely near the outside to take control 100m out for a second win from his past three starts. He's in a rich vein of form and can win another before season's end. Hammered late in betting, Storm Runner ran on late through the middle to grab second after settling one off travelling better than midfield. It was clearly his best run to date following a downgrade and step up to 2,200m with the claim well utilised. Colourful Baron got going late for third after settling last from a wide draw. It was a return to form on his past three starts but he did get a pace run to suit. Golden Fairy grudgingly gave way after reclaiming the lead 550m out from Super Treasure. It wasn't a bad run in a race run to suit those off the pace. Early favourite Super Hong Kong only battled on one-paced after coming off the heels of Golden Fairy for a clear run 200m out following a handy run on the fence. It was another honest run. Late-fancied favourite Mr Aladdin peaked on his run 100m out after taking off 700m out travelling fourth last from a tricky gate. He didn't enjoy the best of runs.
