Recap by phillip woo

Amazing Award was wide with cover and behind midfield before running on nicely near the outside to take control 50m out for a first win at his eighth start. Sturdy Ruby was closing with every stride down the outside to just miss by a neck settling last from gate 10. He continues to find the line well in his past three starts. Sky Vino just held on for third after getting all favours in the box seat. It was another good effort. Favourite Beauty Alliance just missed out on a placing after getting posted wide without cover from better than midfield the entire trip. He clearly has the tools to add to a win two starts ago. Devildom gradually faded after claiming the lead approaching the final bend from Handsome Bomb following a pace-stalking run from gate seven. It was clearly his best run to date from 13 local starts. Punted late Thesis whacked on one-paced after getting posted four wide without cover travelling midfield from a tricky gate. He had an excuse. Handsome Bomb was stopping 100m out after getting away with slow fractions in front from gate four. He's only gone a shade better in his past two of five outings this term.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four : (370) - MORSE PARK HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters

Horse No 1 BEAUTY ALLIANCE (J260) Z Purton Bumped shortly after the start.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 THESIS (H111) A Badel From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Leaving the 900 Metres was taken wider by AMAZING AWARD which shifted out to obtain a trailing position behind BEAUTY ALLIANCE.

In this incident, THESIS was bumped by AMAZING AWARD and then raced wide and without cover from that point.

Horse No 3 PRINCE ALEX (G307) H Bentley After the event, H Bentley reported that after obtaining a trailing position behind SKY VINO he was unable to improve approaching the 500 Metres and as a result his mount lost momentum during that section of the race.

He said as PRINCE ALEX is somewhat one-paced, it then took some time to respond to his riding in the Home Straight when placed under pressure.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 STURDY RUBY (H207) C Y Ho Lay out making the Home Turn and in the early part of the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 6 AMAZING RUN (H401) H Bowman From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 7 SKY VINO (K054) M L Yeung Jumped awkwardly and shifted in abruptly, resulting in its rider M L Yeung becoming unbalanced.

When questioned, M L Yeung stated that after responding to his riding in the early part of the Home Straight he felt that his mount became one-paced near the 200 Metres.

He said as a result he elected to change his whip from his left to his right hand but as he did so his whip became caught in his gloves and as a result he had difficulty pulling it through to his right hand for some distance thereafter which prevented him from fully testing his mount through that section of the race.

Horse No 8 TO INFINITY (G277) B Avdulla From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 9 DEVILDOM (H445) K De Melo After the event, K De Melo reported that he was instructed to take up a forward position as connections felt that there was a lack of pace in the event.

Assistant Trainer H W Cheung confirmed the instructions issued.

Horse No 10 LIGHTNING BOLT (G130) H T Mo After the event, H T Mo reported that his mount raced keenly in the early stages due to the pace of the race in the early stages being run outside of standard time.

He said as a result LIGHTNING BOLT gave ground in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 AMAZING AWARD (J236) K Teetan Shortly after the start raced tight between BEAUTY ALLIANCE and HANDSOME BOMB which shifted out slightly.
