Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Golden Luck kept on gamely after going for home on top 400m out for a third career win over the Valley 1,200m. He rarely produces a bad run at the Valley. Happy Soul ran on well to finish a close second after a prominent run on the fence. He produced a good effort and should come on for this run. Wood On Fire stayed on a close third after chasing the leader on the fence. He is getting long in the tooth but is always a chance from an ideal draw over this course and distance. Punted late, Young Horizon ran on well for fourth after settling four back on the fence. It was a return to form off a light weight. Unison ran on steadily after settling one off the rial in midfield to finish next best. It was a positive debut performance. Happy Trio made some late ground without threatening after biding his time five back and one off the fence. He has gone OK in both starts from tricky gates this term. Lightning Bolt only beat a few from towards the rear. He has disappointed in both starts despite a downgrade this season.
