Recap by phillip woo
Following a prominent run carrying a light weight, firming favourite Ka Ying Rising edged clear after surging to the lead near the 200m to make it five career wins from seven starts and four on the bounce. Flying Ace ran on nicely from midfield to finish second without threatening the winner. He's as honest as the day is long. Howdeepisyourlove finished well to fill a placing after biding his time one from the rear. He rarely produces a bad run. Mugen was doing his best work late for fourth from the rear of the field. Stoltz stayed on reasonably well to finish next best after biding his time two from the back. He needed the run following a bone injury in October. Victor The Winner had little left in the tank 100m out after jumping straight to the front from the widest gate. The big weight took its toll. Sight Success faded after a pace-stalking run. He likely needed the run off a 66-day break. Invincible Sage had little room to improve behind the faltering leader in the stretch drive after a box-seat run. He had an excuse.
