Racing Incident Report
Race Five : (507) - THE HEUNG YEE KUK CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 ENTERPRISE ATTACK (H340) K Teetan Near the 100 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of ACE VICTORY to secure clear running when ACE VICTORY gave ground quickly in front.
After the race, K Teetan reported that he was instructed to hold a midfield position.
He said when caught wide in the early stages and with no prospect of going forward and obtaining cover, he elected to come back to obtain cover and as a result settled further back than what he had intended.
Horse No 2 SUPER FORTUNE (G065) M F Poon Shifted out at the start and bumped IMA SINGLE MAN.
Horse No 3 IMA SINGLE MAN (D476) Y L Chung Bumped on jumping.
When questioned regarding the improved performance of IMA SINGLE MAN and the horse leading today, Trainer A S Cruz stated that after its last start disappointing performance he transferred IMA SINGLE MAN to his Conghua stable.
He said he removed the hood and blinkers and added a visor to the horse's gear when it barrier trialed at Conghua on 8 March 2024 where it had led and performed well.
He said as a result he had instructed Apprentice Y L Chung to lead on IMA SINGLE MAN and attributed the improved performance to the gear change made to the horse and the fact that IMA SINGLE MAN was able to lead today's event.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 ACE VICTORY (H076) C L Chau After the race, C L Chau reported that his mount made a respiratory noise during the running of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
The performance of ACE VICTORY was considered to be disappointing as compared to its previous race starts.
Before being allowed to race again, ACE VICTORY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 5 SUMMIT CHEERS (E221) A Atzeni After the race, A Atzeni reported that his mount failed to travel at any stage of the event and gave ground quickly in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 ORIENTAL SMOKE (E467) H Bentley Bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start.
After he race, H Bentley reported that whilst his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover from the 800 Metres, it was still somewhat disappointing in that it failed to finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 PARTERRE (E234) B Thompson Shortly after the start was crowded between BEAUTY GLORY and ORIENTAL SMOKE which shifted in.
Horse No 10 BEAUTY MISSILE (H123) A Hamelin Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 E LEGEND (G028) K De Melo Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 ENDEARED (H161) A Badel After the 400 Metres was shifted to the inside of BEAUTY GLORY to continue into clear running.
Over the concluding stages was held up and could not be ridden out to the finish when positioned behind IMA SINGLE MAN.

Ima Single Man was much too good after turning the final bend nearly two lengths on top leading from gate two for a fifth Hong Kong win. E Legend just held on for second after a prominent run on the fence. He's mixing his form. Favourite Beauty Missile made good ground near the outside to just miss second after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He's gone well in back-to-back runs. Endeared made good ground late near the inside to just miss a placing after a patient ride fourth last from gate 10. He relished a return to Sha Tin but prefers 1,400m. Super Fortune whacked away one-paced to finish next best after a speed-chasing run. It was a shade better run on his past handful of starts. Beauty Glory ran on without threatening settling four from the rear. Enterprise Attack got going late after biding his time third last from an outside draw. Parterre was a non-factor travelling second last after a tardy start. Ace Victory faded after working forward three-wide to chase the speed following a tardy start. He had an excuse.
