Race Six : (302) - POPLAR HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 2 BEATO (H090) J McDonald Bumped on jumping and then was crowded shortly after the start by YOUNG HORIZON which shifted out.
For some distance after the 300 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when improving into a narrow run to the inside of YOUNG HORIZON.
Horse No 3 ENDEARED (H161) Z Purton After the race, Z Purton stated that he was not instructed to hold a forward position, but after ENDEARED commenced well, he took advantage of its good start which allowed him to race in a more forward position today.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 CELTIC TIMES (G230) H Bowman Despite being ridden along shortly after the start failed to show sufficient pace to hold a more forward position.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 GALVANIC (H147) C Y Ho Bumped at the start and became unbalanced.
When questioned, C Y Ho stated that after being bumped at the start, his mount blundered badly a short distance later and when he was concerned that there was something amiss with the horse, he eased it out of the race shortly after.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained a small cut to the left front leg.
As GALVANIC was eased out of the event, the performance was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, GALVANIC will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 7 GOLDEN BULL (H019) C L Chau Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
Horse No 8 SMART FIGHTER (H278) K Teetan Jumped only fairly and then was crowded shortly after.
Horse No 9 KASI FARASI (B385) L Ferraris Bumped at the start.
Horse No 10 YEABOI (G372) K De Melo A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 MORE RICE (H271) M Chadwick Jumped awkwardly, made heavy contact with the left side of its barrier, became unbalanced and lost ground.

Favourite Endeared took control 150m out after a perfect trip one off better than midfield from gate 109 for a first win at his 11th start. He lived up to an eye-catching second last start and should remain competitive up in grade off a light weight. Punted late Celtic Times just out-dashed Beato down the outside for second after settling fifth last from a tricky gate. He's a winner waiting to happen with placings in four of six starts this term. Beato rushed home late near the inside travelling three from the rear. He keeps promising without delivering on a win line. Specked late Smart Fighter stayed on fourth best without threatening the top three after chasing the leading pair from gate 12. He's not far off a winning run. Golden Bull stayed on all right after a wide without cover run from midfield. War Of Courage was on his tippy toes 100m out after moving to the lead 300m out following a speed-chasing run on the back of leader Super Ten from gate one. The big weight took its toll. Both Kasi Farasi and Mach Ten ran on without threatening from towards the rear. Galvanic was pulled up after 300m.
