Racing Incident Report
Race Nine : (175) - HANSHIN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 SPLENDID LIVING (E192) L Hewitson After the race, L Hewitson explained that he was obliged to make use of his mount in the early stages to cross and take up a position closer to the rail and as a result SPLENDID LIVING was not able to finish the race off strongly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 WINNING DRAGON (E461) Y L Chung Obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 ESCAPE ROUTE (E273) B Avdulla Jumped only fairly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 CHILL CHIBI (H109) C L Chau Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 BRILLIANT WAY (G215) M F Poon A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 VIVA HUNTER (E369) K C Leung Approaching the 1500 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied to avoid BRILLIANT WAY (M F Poon) which shifted in when not quite clear.
M F Poon was severely reprimanded.
Horse No 9 KARMA (G392) C Y Ho Became fractious after being loaded, removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said it was suitable to race.
Before being allowed to race again, KARMA will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the race, C Y Ho reported that his mount did not appreciate racing around the Happy Valley circuit and lay out on the Home Turn.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 STAR CONTACT (E472) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly and then was crowded shortly after the start.
After the 300 Metres was disappointed for clear running between WINNING DRAGON and LUCKY GOLD, both of which shifted ground.
Over the concluding stages was steadied to avoid SPLENDID LIVING (L Hewitson) which shifted in.
L Hewitson was reprimanded.
After the race, K Teetan stated that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.
He said as STAR CONTACT was having its first run in over a month, he was instructed to save his mount for one run in the Home Straight.
Trainer D A Hayes confirmed the instructions issued.
Horse No 11 THESIS (H111) A Badel Near the 1500 Metres was steadied away from VIVA HUNTER which shifted out.
Making the Home Turn was awkwardly placed on the heels of SPLENDID LIVING when that runner shifted out.
Horse No 12 LUCKY GOLD (G112) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly and then was crowded shortly after the start.

Addition to Racing Incidents Report from 11 November 2023 Sha Tin Racemeeting - Race 8 (164) NOBLE WIN - Near the 550 Metres was steadied and shifted out to avoid NORTHERN BEAST.

Trainer D J Whyte was fined a sum of $3,000 for breaching the Track Work Regulations in that he worked three horses on the 1800 Metre gallop on the morning of Monday, 13 November 2023 when the Track Work Regulations stipulate that he is permitted to work two horses.

Racing Laboratory tests of CASA LEGEND, YOO YOO KNIGHT, BEAT HOLLOW, I GIVE, MEEPMEEP, MULTISUPER, PARENTS' LOVE, WUNDERBAR, WIDE BLUE YONDER, MASTER HERO, AESTHETICISM, HAPPY TOGETHER, BEAUTYVERSE, TOP TOP TEA, ARIEL, WINNING DATA, ENCOUNTERED, SUPER SUNNY SING, CHAMPION DRAGON, BEATO, PINS PRINCE, GLOBAL HARMONY, LADY'S CHOICE, GREENWICH, DROMBEG BANNER, YELLOWFIN and GREEN N WHITE (5.11.23) proved negative.

Favourite Chill Chibi took the short route home to take control 100m out to make it three wins from four starts. He should remain in the grade and can win again. The well-backed Karma didn't handle the final bend but finished full of running to easily take second after a wide run with cover from behind midfield. It was a solid effort up in grade. Romantic Laos found a couple too smart after poking his head in front 150m out after a perfect run three back on the fence. He's run well for thirds in his past two starts after returning a winner. Thesis stayed on well for fourth after a handy run one off the fence. He's been building towards a win in both starts for his new trainer this term. Sixth Generation ran on steadily for fifth from behind midfield. He rarely produces a bad run over this Valley trip. Viva Hunter was on his tippy toes 100m out after briefly hitting the lead 200m out following a box-seat run. He's only gone OK in three of four starts this term and requires rating relief. Winning Dragon will sleep well after getting posted wide without cover near the speed the entire race.
