Racing Incident Report
Race Ten: (28) - SHEUNG WAN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters
ROYAL PRIDE was slow to begin.
TOTAL POWER jumped only fairly and then was crowded by SUNNY STAR which blundered and shifted in at the start.
From a wide barrier, SETANTA was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
For some distance approaching the 1000 Metres, LIGHTNING BOLT raced tight to the inside of YOU'REMYEVERYTHING.
Near the 850 Metres, YOU'REMYEVERYTHING was taken wider by CAPTAIN WIN which shifted out.
When shifting back in, YOU'REMYEVERYTHING then crowded LIGHTNING BOLT for some distance after LIGHTNING BOLT improved to the inside of YOU'REMYEVERYTHING.
Near the 150 Metres, SETANTA was momentarily crowded between YOU'REMYEVERYTHING and TOTAL POWER, both of which shifted ground slightly.
After the race, B Avdulla (E LEGEND) stated that when MASSIVE ACTION showed intent to lead, he elected to take a trailing position behind that runner.
He said, in his opinion, E LEGEND will now be better suited racing over 1600 Metres.
A veterinary inspection of E LEGEND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

SUPERB BOY and MASSIVE ACTION were sent for sampling.

Trainer C H Yip was fined the sum of $10,000 for entering GENEROUS FRIEND to race at the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday, 17 September 2023 when that horse is currently under a restriction.

Favourite Superb Boy just wore down long-time leader Massive Action 50m out for a third win from nine local starts and second straight from as many rides under Hugh Bowman over 1,400m. He'll likely remain in the grade off a big weight. Massive Action wouldn't go down without a fight after dictating the run from gate 10 with the claim well utilised. He appreciated the light weight. Hyper Dragon Ball rallied well to edge Captain Win for third from behind midfield. It was a better run after ending last season on a sour note. Captain Win plugged on one paced after a prominent run. He had his chance and will likely come on for the outing. You'remyeverything produced a grinding effort from better than midfield. He might be close to a bottom. Royal Pride ran on late without threatening after a patient ride three from the rear. He needed the outing and is better suited over a mile trip. Total Power got going late from the rear of the field. He requires a much longer trip. E Legend didn't find much after chasing the leading pair on the fence.
