Odds-on favourite Helios Express won going away 150m out after a rail run from midfield for a second up win. The three-year-old lived up to an eye-catching debut earlier this month and he has a bright future going forward. Tomodachi Kokoroe stayed on well for second after a box seat run. It was a vastly improved effort at his fourth local start following a gear change. Moduleconstruction stuck on well to for a placing after a oneout, one-back. It was another solid effort despite a rise in class following a win. Dragon's Luck was on his tippy toes 100m out after dictating the run from a middle draw. It was an okay effort after coming out of a last start failure in March deemed a bleeder. Outgate came on nicely to finish next best from the rear of the field and widest out at the top of the straight. It was an improved effort with a switch to Sha Tin at his second local start. Mayhem worked home reasonably well after making his run five back and one off the fence. He's naturally coming around in his four local starts. Sakewin threw in the towel and was pulled up 950m out.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine: (769) - LAPIS LAZULI HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

STREET CONQUEROR jumped awkwardly and then made heavy contact with TELECOM SPEED, resulting in STREET CONQUEROR becoming unbalanced and losing ground.

GOLDEN LINK jumped only fairly and then raced ungenerously in the early stages and lay out.

MIDORI BEAUTY was slow to begin.

Making the turn near the 450 Metres, STREET CONQUEROR shifted out and bumped GOLDEN LINK.

Near the 150 Metres, NABOO LEGEND, which was giving ground, was steadied to avoid TELECOM SPEED which was taken in by MAYHEM.

Near the 100 Metres, STREET CONQUEROR had difficulty obtaining clear running when held up behind COMPASSION SUPER.

At the winning post, HELIOS EXPRESS shifted out abruptly.

After the race, K C Leung (SAKEWIN) reported that near the 1000 Metres the saddle on SAKEWIN slipped back, resulting in SAKEWIN commencing to buck and then being eased down from the event whereby it took no competitive part thereafter.

A veterinary inspection of SAKEWIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, SAKEWIN will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial with the use of raceday gear and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of NABOO LEGEND immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, NABOO LEGEND will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of MIDORI BEAUTY and GOLDEN LINK immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

HELIOS EXPRESS and TOMODACHI KOKOROE were sent for sampling.
