Encountered kept on gamely after hitting the front 200m out to ring up his third win, plus one third, from four starts over Happy Valley's 1,650m. He relished his return to the city circuit after finding things too rich at Sha Tin in both the Hong Kong Classic Cup and the Derby. Early favourite Gorytus ran on nicely to take second after travelling one off the fence from midfield. He continues to race well with seconds in back-to-back runs after resuming in February with a win. Nimble Nimbus found a couple too good following his rail run from midfield. He is holding his form nicely despite his rise in class following back-to-back wins. Cheerful Days came from last to finish fourth without threatening the top three. It was his best run of the season. Savaquin ran on steadily to finish next best after his one-off-the-fence run from behind midfield. He was not good enough carrying six pounds more following his recent win. Handsome Twelve made good ground late from towards the rear. It was not a bad effort, but he is clearly smarter on the dirt. Rise Brethren ran on steadily near the inside without menacing. He prefers a longer trip.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (576) - WYNDHAM HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1650Meters

NIMBLE NIMBUS shifted in at the start and bumped EVERYONE'S DELIGHT.

BERLIN TANGO and HANDSOME TWELVE both jumped only fairly and were then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

From a wide barrier, CHEERFUL DAYS was also shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

HANDSOME TWELVE lay in when under pressure in the Straight.

After the race, K Teetan (TELECOM FIGHTERS) stated that he had concerns with his mount's action in the Straight and therefore when out of contention he did not ride it out to the finish.

A veterinary inspection of TELECOM FIGHTERS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, TELECOM FIGHTERS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of BERLIN TANGO and EVERYONE'S DELIGHT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

NIMBLE NIMBUS, ENCOUNTERED and GORYTUS were sent for sampling.
