Racing Incident Report
Race Three: (523) - GRADUATE SCHOOL ALUMNI HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Whilst in the saddling stalls, ROARING BEBE was noted to have blood at its mouth.
ROARING BEBE was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
Whilst parading behind the barriers, H Bentley (GOODLUCK GOODLUCK) was dislodged without incident.
IMPERIAL MAGEE jumped only fairly.
CAPTAIN HURRICANE was slow to begin.
CASA SACRED jumped only fairly and then was hampered when crowded between MODULECONSTRUCTION and STARRY NIGHT which shifted in slightly.
ROARING BEBE was bumped shortly after the start by CHILLI BABA which shifted out.
NOBLE BOYZ raced keenly in the early and middle stages and near the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid ROARING BEBE which shifted in.
In this incident, NOBLE BOYZ shifted out, resulting in CHILLI BABA being taken slightly wider.
KING ECCELLENTE raced wide and without cover from the 900 Metres.
For a short distance after the 400 Metres, GOODLUCK GOODLUCK had some difficulty obtaining clear running.
Near the 250 Metres, CASA SACRED (L Ferraris) was shifted to the outside of ROARING BEBE to obtain clear running, and then near the 150 Metres was held up behind KING ECCELLENTE which was giving ground.
After the race, L Ferraris reported that his mount raced greenly in the Straight.
Approaching the 50 Metres, IMPERIAL MAGEE was eased and shifted to the inside of SPEEDY SMARTIE to continue into clear running when SPEEDY SMARTIE shifted out under pressure.
After the race, Mr C H Yip, trainer of TRUST ME, confirmed that he had instructed A Badel from its outside barrier to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.
He said he issued the instructions on the basis that he did not believe TRUST ME had sufficient pace to cross runners to its inside and as a result was concerned if the horse was ridden in a forward position, it may be caught wide during the running of the event.
A veterinary inspection of KING ECCELLENTE and STARRY NIGHT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
SPEEDY SMARTIE and MODULECONSTRUCTION were sent for sampling.

Early favourite Speedy Smartie led and fought back to get the upper hand 20m out when headed by post-time favourite Moduleconstruction 400m out for a maiden win at just his second start. Moduleconstruction grudgingly gave way after poking his head in front 400m out following a pace-prompting run. He's run well to place in each of his four 1,200m starts. Punted late Trust Me came on strongly from last to finish a close third. He had filled the frame in three of five prior starts over the Sha Tin 1,200m. Imperial Magee ran on steadily along the inside to finish next best after saving ground from midfield. He's shown a bit more spark in his past three starts. Goodluck Goodluck kept on OK after a box seat run. It was a better run. Noble Boyz ran on without threatening following a one off run from midfield. He needed the outing after an injury-induced absence. Chilli Baba kept on evenly after getting posted very wide without cover from midfield. He's still a work in progress despite a debut win over the straight 1,000m from three starts.
