Handsome Bo Bo just overhauled Harmony And Rich in the final few metres for his second 1,000m win from his past three Happy Valley starts after racing prominently and threading the needle. Reunited with Hugh Bowman, he took full advantage of gate one. Punted late, Harmony And Rich found one just too good after surging to the lead 100m out following his one-out, one-back run. It was a return to form after his nice trial win recently on the dirt. Favourite Rock Ya Heart ran on nicely with one wider out to finish a close third after travelling wide with cover from midfield. He is racing well without winning this term. Well-backed Whizz Kid grudgingly gave way after stalking the leader We The South carrying top weight. It was a better effort. We The South gradually faded after easily finding the front from gate 12. It was not a bad effort. Toronado Phantom made ground late without threatening from towards the rear. The trip was too short. Special M ran on without menacing down the outside from behind midfield after his wide-with-cover run. He was not good enough stepping up in class off with a light weight.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine: (482) - WONG NAI CHUNG HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1000Meters

After being loaded into the barriers, POWER KOEPP became fractious and reared.

POWER KOEPP was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.

Before being allowed to race again, POWER KOEPP will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.

CARROLL STREET jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was crowded between ROCK YA HEART and HARMONY AND RICH which was taken out by POWER KOEPP.

Shortly after the start, TORONADO PHANTOM was steadied when racing tight to the inside of KEEP YOU WARM which shifted in after being bumped by SPECIAL M.

Near the 800 Metres, KEEP YOU WARM was steadied away from WE THE SOUTH when that runner shifted in before being corrected by its rider.

POWER KOEPP raced keenly throughout the middle stages and for some distance near the 700 Metres was awkwardly placed behind HARMONY AND RICH.

Near the 200 Metres, HANDSOME BO BO raced tight between WE THE SOUTH and WHIZZ KID which shifted in before being corrected.

Approaching the 50 Metres, TORONADO PHANTOM was shifted to the inside of HANDSOME BO BO to continue into clear running.

KEEP YOU WARM raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

A veterinary inspection of ASTROLOGER, CARROLL STREET and GRATEFUL HEART immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

ROCK YA HEART, HANDSOME BO BO and HARMONY AND RICH were sent for sampling.
