Fancied to jump favourite, Like That worked forward three-wide to lead passing the 900m, straightened two lengths on top and kept up a strong gallop for the win. He was well rated and a Class Three horse in Class Four. Faribault was given every chance in the box-seat but found one too smart in the end. He's a winner waiting to happen. Joyful Genius dashed nicely to just edge Bingo Bingo for third after settling third last from a wide draw. He keeps promising without delivering. Early favourite Bingo Bingo came from near last and widest out to just miss a placing. He's racing well but was given too much to do on this occasion in a race run to suit those up front. Fire Ball kept on all right after rushing forward three deep from midfield to sit outside the leader 700m out. He might not be far off a bottom. The well-backed Flying Sword held his ground after handing up the lead to travel effectively one-out, one-back. It was another honest effort despite a switch to the Valley. Bella Baby ran on without menacing from towards the rear. He wasn't suited by the race tempo. King's Trooper had his chance after a rails run in midfield. He's finding things harder in this grade after a Class Five win two runs back.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six: (506) - HEREFORD HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

BELLA BABY began only fairly.

SPLENDID STAR shifted in at the start and bumped FIRE BALL which was also bumped by JAZZ STEED which shifted out.

After this, from a wide barrier, SPLENDID STAR was shifted across behind runners.

From the outside barrier, JOYFUL GENIUS was also steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.

BELLA BABY got its head up on a number of occasions passing the 900 Metres when travelling keenly.

Passing the 500 Metres, TOUCH FAITH became unbalanced when racing tight between KING'S TROOPER and JOYFUL GENIUS which also became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by TOUCH FAITH.

Approaching the 50 Metres, TOUCH FAITH lay out and was awkwardly placed inside the heels of FLYING SWORD.

Close to the finishing line, FIRE BALL lay in under pressure and had to be steadied away from the heels of FARIBAULT.

Because of this, FIRE BALL was not able to be ridden out all the way to the end of the race.

For the majority of the race, SO AWESOME travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on BINGO BINGO at the request of Trainer C S Shum.

The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination found that horse to be a "roarer?? A veterinary inspection of JAZZ STEED immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

LIKE THAT and FARIBAULT were sent for sampling.
