Racing Incident Report
Race Six: (202) - MURRAYFIELD HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
TURBO POWER was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (head injury).
Before being allowed to race again, TURBO POWER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After being loaded into the barriers, STRIVE FOR GLORY became fractious and momentarily lunged at the front gates.
BRIGHT KID was slow to begin.
ROMANTIC WARRIOR shifted out on jumping and brushed NATURAL GOLD.
RED BRICK GLORY began awkwardly and lost ground.
After this, from a wide barrier, RED BRICK GLORY was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
From a wide barrier, BREEZE OF SPRING was also steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
BORDER CONTROL travelled keenly making the turn after the 1100 Metres.
BORDER CONTROL continued to travel keenly in the middle stages and in the Straight gave ground and finished tailed out.
A veterinary inspection of BORDER CONTROL immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.
Before being allowed to race again, BORDER CONTROL will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After the 800 Metres, WILD WEST WING was left racing wide and without cover.
Near the 550 Metres, STAR OF WUYI was awkwardly placed behind STRIVE FOR GLORY.
Both H W Lai (BRIGHT KID) and C Wong (RED BRICK GLORY) were reminded of their obligations regarding the use of the whip on a horse out of contention in respect of the placings of the race.
ROMANTIC WARRIOR and MELBOURNE HALL were sent for sampling.

Raging favourite Romantic Warrior came through along the inside after a rails run worse than midfield to take control 60m out carrying top weight to remain perfect in two starts. He should hold his own up in grade off a light weight. Melbourne Hall stayed on nicely to grab second from the stopping Trader passing the 50m after a prominent run. The draw was the key to his improved performance after getting no favours from gate eight in a disastrous last-start run. Trader again showed his terrific gate speed to lead but was running on empty 50m out. Breeze Of Spring dashed well from near last to nearly place. He relished a step back in distance after a mile defeat but is better suited over the 1,400m at Sha Tin. Strive For Glory came up one-paced after a prominent run. It was a better effort with a move to blinkers. Star Of Wuyi just held his ground after a one-off run better than midfield. He flashed ability to place second twice last season but has only gone OK in two Valley appearances this term. Wild West Wing wasn't beaten too far in the end after getting posted deep without cover chasing the speed.
