Racing Incident Report
Race Four: (58) - OI MAN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
FOURAWARRIOR began only fairly and shortly after the start became badly unbalanced when crowded for room between EIGHT TRIGRAMS which got its head on the side and lay out and THE BEST HERO which shifted in after initially shifting out at the start and bumping BLOTTING PAPER.
SHADOW RUNNER shifted out at the start and bumped AMAZING KNIGHT which in turn shifted out and inconvenienced SPLIT OF A SECOND and EVERYONE'S VICTORY which on jumping lifted its front feet and lost ground.
After this, SPLIT OF A SECOND was shifted across behind runners to obtain a position closer to the rail.
Also after this, EVERYONE'S VICTORY failed to muster speed despite being ridden along.
In the early stages, SHADOW RUNNER was also steadied to obtain cover.
Passing the 800 Metres, AMAZING KNIGHT was awkwardly placed close to the heels of WHIZZ KID which failed to maintain its position despite being ridden along.
Making the first turn near the 700 Metres, BLOTTING PAPER was steadied to obtain cover behind VALIANT ELEGANCE.
Throughout the race, WHIZZ KID travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, J Moreira stated that after not being able to show sufficient speed to lead, in his opinion, FORTUNE HAPPINESS resented the kickback as it had done in the past on occasions when ridden by him.
A veterinary inspection of FORTUNE HAPPINESS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of FOURAWARRIOR immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.
Before being allowed to race again, FOURAWARRIOR will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of EVERYONE'S VICTORY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
FORTUNE HAPPINESS, THE BEST HERO and WHIZZ KID were sent for sampling.

The Best Hero wore down Whizz Kid in the shadows of the post for a win after getting a lovely run one off in midfield. The win was forthcoming after ringing up seconds in three of his past four starts. Newcomer Whizz Kid wouldn't go down without a fight after gaining an advantage at the 200m vying for the lead three deep from the widest gate. It was a massive effort in defeat. Eight Trigrams edged to the front 300m out after sharing the lead along the fence but found a couple too smart in the end. It was an honest effort carrying a big weight. Blotting Paper ran on steadily to grab fourth in the final few strides after settling fourth and one off the fence. He's run well in both starts this term but found a few too smart on this occasion. Punted late Valiant Elegance grudgingly gave way after pushing the pace between runners. It wasn't a bad effort but he does find it hard at this level. Favourite Fortune Happiness just held his ground travelling fore of midfield on the fence. A hard fought second 14 days back may have taken the wind out of his sail for this run. Early favourite Fourawarrior failed to respond under the whip after a rail run behind midfield. He failed to build on an eye-catching third on the dirt in July.
