Kasi Farasi quickened nicely to mow down Leap Of Faith for the win after coming off heels for a clear run 300m out following a prominent run on the fence. He relished a step back to the 1,400m. Leap Of Faith found one too good after shooting clear at the top of the straight after travelling handy without cover from a wide draw. He can breakthrough shortly after finding one too good in back-to-back runs. Early favourite Perfect Pair had his chance after a wide run with cover in midfield but came up one-paced over the final 150m to finish third without menacing the top pair. He's likely on or near his mark. Flying Victory ran on steadily from behind midfield to fill the frame. He lived up to an improved effort last start. Fantastic Show got going very late down the outside after showing no speed despite being hustled along from the start. Dylan Mo Hin-tung had to earn his riding fee yet again following a win last start in Class Four. Turquoise Alpha got going late near the outside to nearly pick up a pay slip after biding his time three deep one from the rear. He's shown flashes of ability in his six starts.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine: (736) - LEE ON HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters

FANTASTIC SHOW was slow to begin.

PERFECT PAIR shifted out at the start and bumped LEWIS.

PERFECT PAIR then shifted in, resulting in FLYING VICTORY being momentarily crowded for room outside SPLENDID LIVING.

From the outside barrier, TURQUOISE ALPHA was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Approaching the 1000 Metres, MOERAKI got its head up when travelling keenly and awkwardly placed behind FLYING VICTORY.

Passing the 1000 Metres, FLYING VICTORY was awkwardly placed behind SPLENDID LIVING which itself was racing close to the heels of CHEERFUL DAYS which was steadied to obtain cover behind LEWIS.

SPLENDID LIVING made the turn near the 900 Metres awkwardly and shifted out and in doing so inconvenienced PERFECT PAIR.

Passing the 400 Metres, KASI FARASI shifted out and bumped LEWIS.

FLYING VICTORY, which was following KASI FARASI, was held up for clear running in consequence.

FLYING VICTORY was then shifted to the inside of KASI FARASI approaching the 300 Metres.

KASI FARASI was then awkwardly placed close to the heels of BEAUTY SPIRIT until passing the 300 Metres.

Throughout the race, LEAP OF FAITH travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, A Hamelin stated that due to MOERAKI having drawn barrier 13, he was asked to ride the horse quietly in the early stages and obtain cover.

A veterinary inspection of LEWIS immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, LEWIS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of BEAUTY SPIRIT and CHEERFUL DAYS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

THE HULK, KASI FARASI and LEAP OF FAITH were sent for sampling.
