Racing Incident Report
Race Three: (730) - KWONG TIN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Meters
Whilst in the saddling stalls, JOYFUL FORTUNE had its right front plate refitted.
JOYFUL FORTUNE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.
FLYING HIGH began only fairly and then was bumped by FIGHTING STAR which shifted in.
After this, FLYING HIGH was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
SPARKLING KNIGHT shifted out at the start and bumped UTOPIA LIFE.
BRILLIANT FORTUNE began awkwardly.
Passing the 300 Metres, SPARKLING KNIGHT raced tight outside SPECIAL M which got its head on the side and lay out.
Then near the 250 Metres, SPARKLING KNIGHT, which was laying out, was brushed by SPECIAL M which was racing tight outside GOOD VIEW CLARICO.
A veterinary inspection of SPECIAL M and SPARKLING KNIGHT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
BRILLIANT FORTUNE, JOYFUL FORTUNE and METRO WARRIOR were sent for sampling.

Joyful Fortune just prevailed after getting challenged for the most part in front by Metro Warrior for a second career win at his fifth outing. He finally repaid punters after proving costly while only filling the frame in three of four other starts this term. Metro Warrior gave the winner a run for his money but couldn't peg him back. He's as honest as the day is long but lacks the desire to win. Favourite Brilliant Fortune came across heels for a clear run near the 200m but only plodded when asked for more to hold a placing without menacing the quinella pair following a speed-chasing run. Flying High got going from towards the rear to spice up the quartet. It was his best run to date after front-running roles in three other starts. Good View Clarico came up one-paced after a prominent run near the far side. He's on his mark and the big weight did not help. Utopia Life gradually faded following a handy run near the stand side. He's still trying to find his mark and is better suited on the dirt. Sparkling Knight weakened after racing prominently in the centre of the course. He was in need of the run in his first start for his new trainer.
