Racing Incident Report
Race Nine: (651) - HOK YUEN HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Meters
HANDSOME BO BO shifted out at the start and brushed IGNITING and then shifted in and inconvenienced SILVER FIG which began only fairly.
From wide barriers, GUY DRAGON and WIND N GRASS were steadied shortly after the start to obtain cover.
Despite being vigorously ridden in the early stages, SNAP FIT failed to muster speed and near the 1150 Metres became unbalanced when crowded for room between HONG KONG BET and INVINCIBLE MISSILE which shifted out marginally before being bumped on the hindquarters by SNAP FIT and then shifting out further.
Near the 1100 Metres, INVINCIBLE MISSILE was momentarily awkwardly placed outside the heels of LOBO'S LEGEND.
Passing the 150 Metres, HONG KONG BET got its head on the side and lay in under pressure, requiring its rider to correct his mount.
Throughout the race, WILL POWER travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, A Hamelin stated that SILVER FIG's action deteriorated rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight.
He said because of this he did not ride SILVER FIG out over the concluding stages as the horse was already beaten.
A veterinary inspection of SILVER FIG immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, SILVER FIG will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of WILL POWER, LOBO'S LEGEND and GUY DRAGON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
HANDSOME BO BO and IGNITING were sent for sampling.
GENERAL:
1.
After the running of Race 3, the track classification was officially changed from "Good??to "Good to Firm?? This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.
As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 3 being run on a track rated "Good to Firm??

Additional Veterinary Reports from Sha Tin Racemeeting on 2 May 2021 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of SMART IDEA, CORDYCEPS SIX, TURBO POWER, KA YING SPIRIT, CORRIENTHES, MCMUNIGAL, THE JOY OF GIVING, SMART WONGCHOY, JADE PHOENIX, RHAPSODY, ULTRA EXPRESS, ROBOT WARRIOR, COPARTNER ERA, GRACYLOVE, LOVE ME MORE, SUPER RED DRAGON, BUTTERFIELD, CHARITY FUN, THE HULK, ALL IN MIND, LOOKING GREAT, CALIFORNIA TEN, DECISIVE TWELVE, TRILLION WIN, FANTASTIC TREASURE and COMPASSION SPIRIT revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of MISSION SMART, HALL OF CHAMP, SUPER MISSION, PACKING AWARD, PARTY GENIUS, BELLA BABY, WAR OF COURAGE, FANTASTIC WAY, BEAUTY FIT, SERIOUS LIAISON, MALDIVES, DANON SMASH, WELLINGTON, COMPUTER PATCH, GALLANT EXPRESS, E STAR, HORSESAIN BOLT, GOLDEN SIXTY, MORE THAN THIS, DARING TACT, LOVES ONLY YOU, GLORY VASE, SAVAQUIN, TOURBILLON DIAMOND, COURIER WONDER and LUCKY PATCH (25.4.21) proved negative.

Favourite Handsome Bo Bo easily reeled in Igniting near the 150m out for the win after biding his time on the leader's back. He's having a terrific season after joining the Danny Shum stable. Punted late Igniting did everything right but get the win after dictating the run from gate four. He finished well clear of the rest but was no match for the winner. Specked late Snap Fit ran on well after biding his time fifth last on the fence to snatch third on the wire. It was a solid effort off a seven-day break following a win in a lesser grade. Shining Gem held onto fourth by a whisker after a handy run along the fence. He's still trying to find a bottom after a four-win campaign. California Rad came up onepaced after chasing the speed deep without cover early on from a wide gate. He does appear from his past few starts to be on his mark. Hong Kong Bet ran on without menacing from towards the rear. He might be one to keep safe down in Class Three. Invincible Missile left things too late settling second last in the run. He's more effective in Class Three over the 1,400m. You can forget the run of Will Power who covered a tonne of ground beyond midfield from the widest draw.
