Racing Incident Report
Race Ten: (583) - MA KONG SHAN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters
Just prior to the start being effected, BEAUTY FIT became fractious and then as the gates opened was slow to begin.
TRUE LEGEND shifted out at the start and inconvenienced MEANINGFUL STAR.
From the outside barrier, PASSING FASHION was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 900 Metres, WINNING METHOD was momentarily awkwardly placed inside the heels of STOICISM due to both horses shifting marginal ground.
Passing the 700 Metres, LEWIS commenced to travel keenly and shifted out away from the heels of STOICISM which itself was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PERFECT PAIR.
This resulted in LEWIS being left racing wide and without cover.
Approaching the 200 Metres, BEAUTY FIT (J Moreira) became unbalanced of its own accord.
BEAUTY FIT then shifted ground on a number of occasions after this.
J Moreira said that at this stage BEAUTY FIT, which had done its racing on left-handed tracks overseas, was having some difficulty adapting to racing in the clockwise direction.
Also approaching the 200 Metres, STOICISM momentarily raced in restricted room between LEWIS and FANTASTIC TREASURE which shifted out to obtain clear running.
A veterinary inspection of LEWIS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
FANTASTIC TREASURE and PERFECT PAIR were sent for sampling.

In a blanket finish, favourite Fantastic Treasure let down nicely over the final 150m from midfield to get up in the final strides for the win. He's now unbeaten in three starts despite a rise in class and the future is very bright indeed. Perfect Pair ran on well to finish a close second after executing nicely in the one-one from an awkward gate. He's run very well in defeat in his past two starts and can break through shortly. Winning Method ran on steadily along the inside to just finish a couple too good following a handy run. He relished a downgrade but the big weight was the difference in the end. True Legend was swamped in the shadows of the post after finding the lead 1,150m out. Pressure from Compassion Spirit 850m out cost True Legend in the end. Beauty Fit made ground late near the inside after making his run at the rear of the field following a slow start. He clearly has ability but will have to work out a few kinks.
