Recap by phillip woo
Co-favourite Glorious Dragon showed a good turn of foot after getting out of a jam 200m out to win with something in hand 40m out after settling third last in the ninehorse field. He's really developed into a very nice horse at 1,800m and further for his new trainer this season. Butterfield found one too good after hitting the front 200m out travelling effectively one-out, one-back as the late-fancied equal favourite. He was coming off a win last start and relished the light weight. Helene Leadingstar stayed on well after barging his way into the open near the 200m after a rails run better than midfield to finish a close third. He's crying out for the 2,400m. The same can be said of Columbus County, who came from last to fill the frame without menacing the top-three. Ho Ho Khan came up one-paced over the last 100m following a one-off trip in midfield. He too is a 2,400m specialist. Time Warp faded over the last 100m after getting his own way in front. Savvy Nine tamely faded after stalking the speed.
