Race Seven: (542) - WONG CHUK WAN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
MISSION SMART was slow to begin.
CITY LEGEND and AMAZING LUCK began only fairly.
FULL SAILING shifted in at the start and bumped GRACYLOVE, resulting in both horses becoming unbalanced and FULL SAILING then shifting out and bumping ZONE D.
After being ridden along in the early stages from the outside barrier, HAPPY RUBY proved difficult to settle approaching and passing the 1200 Metres when being steadied to obtain cover.
From a wide barrier, TAKINGUFURTHER was ridden along for a considerable distance in the early stages to obtain a forward position.
In the early and middle stages, GARLIC HERO travelled keenly in the lead.
ALEE KING PRAWN lost its left hind plate rounding the Home Turn.
At the entrance to the Straight, MISSION SMART and GREEN ENVY bumped on two occasions as MISSION SMART improved to the outside of ALEE KING PRAWN.
Passing the 250 Metres, MISSION SMART was inconvenienced when racing tight inside the heels of GRACYLOVE.
After continuing to race in restricted room inside GRACYLOVE (K C Leung), MISSION SMART was steadied away from the heels of that horse approaching the 150 Metres which shifted in under pressure.
K C Leung was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Over the concluding stages, GREEN ENVY was shifted out away from the heels of ZONE D.
Throughout the race, TOP SCORE travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, M F Poon reported that TOP SCORE did not feel comfortable in its action during the race.
A veterinary inspection of TOP SCORE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Before being allowed to race again, TOP SCORE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of FORTUNE MASTER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
MISSION SMART, CITY LEGEND and GRACYLOVE were sent for sampling.

Punted late, City Legend came on strongly to win going away 100m out after shifting into the open 350m out following a patient ride fourth last along the inside. It would not surprise to see him win again. Well-backed Gracylove just held off Zone D for second after settling effectively one-out, one-back. He relished a rise in trip and a return to Sha Tin after showing flashes of ability in four other starts. Zone D ran on well from behind midfield to make it close for second. It was a good effort carrying top weight following a last-start win. You can put a line through the run of favourite Mission Smart, who was caught up in traffic behind the eventual runner-up from the 250m to 100m travelling midfield on the fence after a slow start. Green Envy ran on without menacing following a one-off run in midfield. He has been racing well without winning at this level. Punted late, Garlic Hero knocked up badly 100m out after getting his own way in front from gate 10.
