Recap by phillip woo
Well-supported Wellington won going away 60m out carrying a light weight after gaining a clear run at the 200m following a rails run in midfield to remain unbeaten in five starts over this trip. He was able to equal the Class One record of Sacred Kingdom and looks a rising star in the sprint ranks. Computer Patch nearly stole the race after straightening two lengths on top. It was a return to form after disappointing in his past three starts. Plunged late, Sky Field finished well to fill a placing after a patient ride third from the rear. Like the winner, he was badly handicapped but showed that he has a very bright future as a sprinter. Winning Dreamer came up one-paced over the last 100m after a pace-stalking run. He likely needed the effort in his first start following a New Year's Day defeat with blood in his trachea. Hot King Prawn came up flat following a prominent run. He wasn't able to quicken carrying top weight. Regency Legend ran on without menacing after a one-off run in midfield.
