Racing Incident Report
Race Two: (442) - AMBITIOUS DRAGON HANDICAP - Class 2 - 2000Meters
ASSIMILATE shifted out at the start and bumped GOLDEN SPECTRUM.
Both ASSIMILATE and GOLDEN SPECTRUM were then steadied to obtain cover.
From the outside barrier, CHARITY GO was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
Passing the 1400 Metres, ASSIMILATE travelled keenly when racing close to the heels of TIANCHI MONSTER.
Close to the finishing line, GOLDEN SPECTRUM raced tight between TIANCHI MONSTER and CHARITY GO.
After the race, C Schofield said that ASSIMILATE travelled well throughout the race, however, was somewhat disappointing in the manner in which it failed to finish off the race.
He said he was of the opinion that ASSIMILATE may not have seen out the distance of today's race at the first time of asking.
A veterinary inspection of ASSIMILATE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

PANFIELD and FLYING QUEST were sent for sampling.

Raging favourite Panfield kept on gamely after hitting the front 300m out following a box-seat run for a first win after showing steady progress in his opening three runs. He relished the trip and made full use of gate one. Flying Quest was coming on nicely to finish a close second following a rail run better than midfield. The old-timer's found the 2,000m to his liking this season. Reliable Team gradually faded after settling a muddling pace in front to just hold third. He makes his own luck up front but doesn't have much upside off his current mark. Tianchi Monster looked a chance rounding the final bend following a one-off trip in midfield but came up one-paced over the last 100m. It was another honest effort. Charity Go was doing his best work late after biding his time at the rear of the field. The pace went against him. Golden Spectrum made ground late after switching into the open 250m out following a patient ride second from the rear. He'll be a force to be reckoned with over 1,800m. Butterfield didn't have much left over the final 200m after stalking the leader in the run. He's been disappointing this campaign.
