Racing Incident Report
Race Two: (394) - SHEK KIP MEI HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
BRIGHT KID began only fairly and then was slow to muster speed despite being ridden along.
SCENIC SWEETIE shifted out at the start, resulting in AEROSONIC being taken out onto FORTUNE HERO which in turn shifted out and brushed the hindquarters of CLASSIC POSH.
From a wide barrier, TOP MILITARY was shifted across behind runners soon after the start.
Approaching the 1000 Metres, C Y Ho (RUN THE TABLE) adjusted his left foot in the stirrup iron.
Also approaching the first turn near the 1000 Metres, LUCKY MARYKNOLL shifted in and bumped SEA ELITE which became unbalanced and shifted in, resulting in FORTUNE HERO being hampered.
Passing the 600 Metres, CLASSIC POSH and AEROSONIC momentarily raced tight inside FORTUNE HERO (A Badel).
A Badel was advised to ensure that he provides runners to his inside with comfortable racing room.
HAPPY GATHERING shifted out on straightening and made contact with LUCKY MARYKNOLL.
Approaching the 150 Metres, RUN THE TABLE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of LUCKY MARYKNOLL which commenced to give ground after making contact with HAPPY GATHERING.
Approaching the finishing line, FORTUNE HERO was inconvenienced by BRIGHT KID which shifted in under pressure.
Passing the finishing line, MUDITA shifted in and made contact with BRIGHT KID.
When questioned, A Badel stated that he was instructed to be positive on FORTUNE HERO and to lead if possible, however, if the pace was too strong he had the option to take a trailing position.
He said he rode FORTUNE HERO along from the barriers, however, DRAGON IN FIELD, SCENIC SWEETIE and AEROSONIC were also ridden hard in the early stages and maintained their position to his inside.
He said approaching the first turn he felt that he would have to make too much use of FORTUNE HERO to clear the three runners to his inside, therefore he steadied FORTUNE HERO with a view to taking a trailing position.
He said just prior to making the turn approaching the 1000 Metres, FORTUNE HERO was inconvenienced by movement from runners to his outside and then after entering the Back Straight when in a three wide position outside the heels of SCENIC SWEETIE, he identified that there was an opportunity for him to steady and take up a trailing position behind that horse.
He said however that it took some time for him to be able to steady FORTUNE HERO sufficiently to take this position and after the 800 Metres both AEROSONIC and CLASSIC POSH improved to his inside which then prevented him from being able to obtain cover and resulted in FORTUNE HERO being left racing wide and without cover.
FORTUNE HERO, CLASSIC POSH and MUDITA were sent for sampling.

Classic Posh ran on strongly near the inside to take control 150m out after hugging the fence behind midfield. The writing had been on the wall in his past two runs in this grade and the booking of Zac Purton worked the oracle. Rank outsider Mudita closed nicely to grab second in the last stride after biding his time fourth last and one off the fence. He was able to build on a positive debut effort last month over this trip and should be saluting shortly. Sea Elite was collared late for second after a box-seat run. It was an improved effort third up from a better draw. Bright Kid finished willingly to just miss the placings after settling last from an awkward gate. He loves racing at this level but prefers a stronger rider. Fortune Hero stayed on without menacing after a wide without cover run the entire trip in midfield. It wasn't a bad effort with a return to Class Four after a win. Run The Table ran on without menacing from towards the rear. He requires a longer trip.
