Recap by phillip woo
Elusive State circled the field from last to eyeball the favourite and leader 850m out, worked to the lead 350m out and edged clear for a dominant win. He got in nicely at the weights and it was a superb rid by Joao Moreira. Encore Boy came on nicely from midfield to finish a clear-cut second. It was a solid performance at his first run over the trip. Red Desert kept on well for a placing after chasing the leader on the fence. He rarely produces a bad run on this surface. Glorious Artist got going to finish a distant fourth after making his run second from the rear. He might be on his mark after back-to-back wins. Raging favourite Kings Shield had nothing left in the tank 350m out after getting pestered for the front from the 850m. The big weight took its toll. Green Luck was gone a long way out after a handy run one off the fence. He resents the dirt. Circuit Glory faded after a box-seat run. He's not good enough at this level.
