Recap by phillip woo

Raging favourite Golden Sixty proved too smart after rushing to the lead 200m out following a one-off run behind midfield for an 11th win from 12 starts. He was nicely weighted in the handicaps but is a very exciting and versatile racehorse. Beauty Generation ran on nicely to finish level for second with Champion's Way after being short of clear running until the 200m following rail run better than midfield. Champion's Way kept on well after rushing to the lead 350m out travelling one off in fifth until peeling out at the 600m. He was fitter for a run and appreciated the rise in trip. Southern Legend just failed to place after settling one-out, one-back. It was a solid return to the races for the eight-year-old over an unsuitable trip. Buddies kept on all right after working forward from a wide gate to press Ka Ying Star for the lead. Specked late Fast Most Furious ran on without menacing from towards the rear. He's more effective at a mile or 1,800m.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (62) - THE CELEBRATION CUP (HANDICAP) - Class G3 - 1400Meters

GOLDEN SIXTY was crowded for room on jumping between KA YING STAR and BEAUTY GENERATION which shifted out.

In this incident, GOLDEN SIXTY brushed the hindquarters of KA YING STAR which became unbalanced.

FAST MOST FURIOUS and BUDDIES bumped at the start.

After this, FAST MOST FURIOUS was steadied to obtain cover.

After being crossed by SOUTHERN LEGEND passing the 1000 Metres, CHAMPION'S WAY commenced to travel keenly and for some distance after the 1000 Metres was awkwardly placed behind that horse.

After the 800 Metres, RATTAN was left racing wide and without cover and then approaching the 700 Metres was taken wider by CHAMPION'S WAY which shifted to the outside of SOUTHERN LEGEND when continuing to travel keenly.

RATTAN was then taken wider again by GOLDEN SIXTY passing the 600 Metres.

Passing the 250 Metres, SOUTHERN LEGEND momentarily raced tight between BEAUTY GENERATION and GOLDEN SIXTY.

Approaching the 200 Metres, DANCES WITH DRAGON was awkwardly placed behind SOUTHERN LEGEND.

Passing the 200 Metres, CHAMPION'S WAY shifted out and raced tight inside GOLDEN SIXTY.

Over the concluding stages, BEAUTY GENERATION shifted out under pressure.

Close to the finishing line, DANCES WITH DRAGON and FAST MOST FURIOUS raced tight.

When questioned, C Schofield stated that KA YING STAR travelled well in the lead and he was able to dictate the tempo of the race.

He said given that the race had not been run at a fast tempo, he anticipated that the horse would finish off the race, however, after being challenged by BUDDIES and CHAMPION'S WAY rounding the Home Turn, KA YING STAR immediately came under pressure and then was disappointing in its failure to close off the race over the concluding stages.

A veterinary inspection of KA YING STAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

GOLDEN SIXTY, BEAUTY GENERATION and CHAMPION'S WAY were sent for sampling.
