Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Will Power quickened very well down the outside to take control 100m out after settling one-off behind midfield for a fourth win from seven starts. Hopefully, he has improved a better prospect and can hold his own in Class Two going forward. Czarson kept on well for second after getting pestered for the lead to his outside by Golfman Star. It was an improved effort for his new trainer with a switch to the dirt. Elite Patch hit the line nicely after finally getting a run between runners 150m out following a patient ride second from the rear to fill a placing. He should have finished closer. California Concord had his chance following a one-out, one-back run. He appeared from his track work to have needed this run. Enshrined responded one-paced following a box-seat run. He's still acclimatising. Silver Fig never menaced after making his run third from the rear. He's likely on his mark and might prefer a wet track.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (25) - JORDAN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

SILVER FIG was slow to begin.

GOLFMAN STAR shifted out at the start and inconvenienced ELITE PATCH.

ELITE PATCH then shifted out and made contact with ROMANTIC COMBO which became unbalanced, shifted out and bumped CALIFORNIA CONCORD on a number of occasions, causing both horses to become badly unbalanced.

When unbalanced, ROMANTIC COMBO shifted in after travelling a short distance, resulting in ELITE PATCH losing ground when crowded for room.

At the entrance to the Straight, ROMANTIC COMBO was momentarily shifted out away from the heels of WILL POWER which was taken out by CALIFORNIA CONCORD which in turn was taken out by ENSHRINED (M Chadwick) which shifted to the outside of GOLFMAN STAR to obtain clear running.

M Chadwick was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.

ELITE PATCH had some difficulty obtaining clear running passing the 200 Metres.

For the majority of the race, ROMANTIC COMBO (J Moreira) travelled wide and without cover.

After the race, J Moreira stated that ROMANTIC COMBO was inclined to lay out away from runners throughout the race.

The performance of GOOD BEAUTY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, GOOD BEAUTY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of GOOD BEAUTY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

After the race, A Hamelin stated that whilst SILVER FIG did not finish off the race, he believed that the horse would improve greatly for the run.

A veterinary inspection of SILVER FIG immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

WILL POWER and CZARSON were sent for sampling.
