Well-backed late Fast Most Furious kept on gamely after rushing to the front near the outside at the 160m out following a patient ride third from the rear in the eight-horse field. He's had a terrific season. Preciousship closed well to finish a close second after being ridden cold from a wide gate. He's a mile specialist and the move to a 10-pound claimer nearly paid off. Savvy Nine was closing nicely with every stride to finish a length away in third after settling midfield following a sluggish start. He's better suited at 1,800m or even 2,000m. Favourite General's Delight had his chance following a oneout, one-back run. He might require a longer trip. Jolly Banner came up flat after chasing the leader Kings Shield on the fence. The mile stretches him. Northern Superstar knocked up 150m out after circling the field to get to second 900m out.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four: (812) - THE SHA TIN MILE TROPHY (HANDICAP) - Class 1 - 1600Meters

GENERAL'S DELIGHT shifted in at the start and inconvenienced JOLLY BANNER and SAVVY NINE.

From the outside barriers, PRECIOUSSHIP and HELENE LEADINGSTAR were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

After initially being steadied to obtain cover, NORTHERN SUPERSTAR travelled keenly passing the 1400 Metre when attempting to shift in further behind FAST MOST FURIOUS.

As a result of HELENE LEADINGSTAR improving its position inside NORTHERN SUPERSTAR near the 1300 Metres, this resulted in NORTHERN SUPERSTAR being left racing wide and without cover near the 1200 Metres.

NORTHERN SUPERSTAR was then allowed to improve its position to race outside the lead near the 1000 Metres.

Approaching the 1200 Metres, HELENE LEADINGSTAR commenced to travel very keenly and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of FAST MOST FURIOUS.

SAVVY NINE had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight.

Approaching the 200 Metres, JOLLY BANNER was shifted out away from the heels of NORTHERN SUPERSTAR.

Over the concluding stages, SAVVY NINE raced in restricted room between FAST MOST FURIOUS and PRECIOUSSHIP.

Passing the winning post, JOLLY BANNER and HELENE LEADINGSTAR bumped.

A veterinary inspection of JOLLY BANNER and HELENE LEADINGSTAR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

GENERAL'S DELIGHT, FAST MOST FURIOUS and PRECIOUSSHIP were sent for sampling.
