Racing Incident Report
Race Six: (805) - LYTTELTON HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
EVERYONE'S ELITE was withdrawn on 7.7.20 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore and right hind) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter RIGHTEOUS MATE (V Borges).
RIGHTEOUS MATE began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped MURRAY'S PARTNERS which then received contact from STAR WIN which shifted out.
From the outside barrier, HAR HAR HEART was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
AUTHENTIC CHAMP was also steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
In the early stages, from a wide barrier, LASTING FRIENDSHIP was shifted across behind runners, however, travelled wide and without cover throughout the race.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, KING'S MAN got its head up when awkwardly placed behind STAR WIN.
BLOOMING SPIRIT lost its left hind plate in the middle stages.
Approaching the 800 Metres, DIONYSUS COLLIN shifted out away from the heels of BLOOMING SPIRIT which commenced to travel keenly and was steadied away from the heels of THUNDER STOMP.
In this incident, DIONYSUS COLLIN bumped MURRAY'S PARTNERS, resulting in that horse being forced wide and without cover for a short distance.
DIONYSUS COLLIN then became unbalanced passing the 800 Metres after making contact with MURRAY'S PARTNERS.
Near the 550 Metres, DIONYSUS COLLIN raced close to the heels of BLOOMING SPIRIT when racing tight inside MURRAY'S PARTNERS.
Rounding the Home Turn, DIONYSUS COLLIN was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ANONYMA.
Over the concluding stages, TOTAL POWER raced tight outside MURRAY'S PARTNERS and close to the finishing line was shifted out away from that horse.
After the race, the Veterinary Surgeon reported that RIGHTEOUS MATE was lame in its right front leg.
Before being allowed to race again, RIGHTEOUS MATE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of KING'S MAN and AUTHENTIC CHAMP immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
DIONYSUS COLLIN, MURRAY'S PARTNERS and TOTAL POWER were sent for sampling.

Murray's Partners repelled a challenge from Total Power hitting the front near the 100m after getting pushed into a three-deep spot without cover in midfield at the 700m for a second straight win. He's coming into his own and might have the tools to win another in the grade. Total Power took off coming to the final bend after a one-off run in midfield but found one too good in the end. He should be able to get away with a race in this grade next season. Anonyma kept plugging away tracking the speed to just hold third at massive odds. It was clearly his best run to date after arriving off a mark of 80. Favourite Dionysus Collin ran on steadily to just miss a placing after getting into a shoving match on a couple of occasions with the winner passing the 700m. He's more effective over a longer trip. Thunder Stomp weakened inside the final 150m after working hard to eventually find the fence in front 1,100m out from a wide gate.
