Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (745) - THE ARCULLI TROPHY (HANDICAP) - Class 2 - 1200Meters
DRAGON GENERAL stumbled badly at the start and as a result lost a considerable amount of ground.
WILL POWER shifted out at the start and inconvenienced ENCORE BOY.
WILL POWER travelled keenly when being steadied to obtain cover approaching the 1100 Metres.
Throughout the race, UGLY WARRIOR and ENCORE BOY travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of DRAGON GENERAL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GUNNISON, RED DESERT and HIGHLY PROACTIVE were sent for sampling.

Punted late Red Desert came off the fence following a prominent run to win a thrilling battle with long-time leader Highly Proactive over the final 200m for a second win with a return to the course and distance of a win in February. It was a terrific effort trying the dirt for the first time by Highly Proactive, who wouldn't go down without a fight after leading from a wide gate. Favourite Gunnison had every chance chasing the leader one off the fence. He's racing well without winning over this dirt trip. Fantasy ran on reasonably well near the inside to fill the frame after a patient ride second from the rear. Will Power made only a mild bid after a wide and with cover run in midfield. He has found things harder in his past three runs in this grade. Encore Boy stayed on without menacing after never getting closer than fourth deep travelling midfield. He had an excuse as did Ugly Warrior who was stopping 150m out after a hard run near the speed.
