Recap by phillip woo

Plunged late Winner Supreme ran them ragged in front to win in a track-record time after straightening four lengths on top leading from gate 12. He really goes well on this surface. Gunnison stayed on well travelling prominent on the fence to finish a clear-cut second. He rarely produces a bad run on this surface but isn't a prolific winner. Firming favourite Will Power got up from behind midfield for a placing but never looked a winning chance. It wasn't a bad effort. Kings Shield kept plugging away to finish a distant fourth after making his run one-off in third. He's clearly better over a longer trip on this surface. Fortune Booth made headway late after settling fifth last following a slow start. He is heading in the right direction in his past two of five starts following fetlock arthroscopy. Encore Boy ran on late without menacing after spotting them too much of a head start travelling fourth last. Things just didn't pan out on this occasion.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine: (591) - CORNWALL HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Meters

FORTUNE BOOTH was slow to begin.

After being ridden along in the early stages,.

MISSION TYCOON was steadied approaching the 1100 Metres to obtain cover.

From a wide barrier, SEVEN HEAVENS was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

ENCORE BOY travelled keenly in the early stages when being steadied to obtain cover.

Passing the 1000 Metres, MISSION TYCOON momentarily raced in restricted room between MASSIVE POCKET which initially shifted in and ENCORE BOY which then shifted out.

In the early stages, FORTUNE BOOTH travelled keenly and making the turn near the 700 Metres shifted out, resulting in TURIN REDSTAR being inconvenienced and FORTUNE BOOTH getting its head up when awkwardly placed inside the heels of WILL POWER.

Near the 700 Metres, FLASHCARD was left racing wide and without cover.

After the race, C Y Ho (MASSIVE POCKET) stated that the circumstances of the race resulted in the horse having to race very wide and without cover and because of this MASSIVE POCKET was then not able to finish off the race when up in grade following its last start success.

A veterinary inspection of MASSIVE POCKET immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

WILL POWER, WINNER SUPREME and GUNNISON were sent for sampling.
