Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (544) - CHEUNG SHA HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1650Meters
ELITE PATCH and EASY GO EASY WIN bumped at the start, causing both horses to become unbalanced and for EASY GO EASY WIN to be steadied away from the heels of KINGS SHIELD a short distance later.
From a wide barrier, RICKFIELD was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the 1300 Metres, BEAR SLAM was awkwardly placed behind RED DESERT which was steadied to allow KINGS SHIELD to cross.
Making the turn near the 700 Metres, UNCLE STEVE brushed the running rail.
Near the 500 Metres, GLORIOUS ARTIST was shifted out away from the heels of BEAR SLAM (G van Niekerk) which shifted out when under heavy pressure.
G van Niekerk was advised to ensure that he makes every endeavour to prevent his mounts from shifting ground in similar circumstances.
Approaching the 300 Metres, DANCES WITH DRAGON was shifted to the outside of RED DESERT after being disappointed for running between that horse and MONGOLIAN KING which shifted to the outside of BUDDIES.
A veterinary inspection of GLORIOUS ARTIST and ELITE PATCH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, both horses were unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

BUDDIES, MONGOLIAN KING and KINGS SHIELD were sent for sampling.
GENERAL:
1.
Trainer R Gibson was fined $2,000 for having attended the stable compound on the afternoon of Tuesday, 31 March 2020 whilst not wearing a surgical mask, contrary to a formal directive of the Club.
2.
Trainer D J Whyte was fined $3,000 in that contrary to a direction issued on Monday, 30 March 2020, he worked four horses on the Large All Weather Track this morning when only three horses were permitted to use the track.
3.
Additional Veterinary Reports from Sha Tin Racemeeting on 29 March 2020 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of HURRICANE HUNTER, SOCCER MASTER, ABOVE, GOOD DAYS, FANTASY, HANDSOME BO BO, CARE FREE PRINCE, CITY LEGEND, GRADE ONE, TEAM POWER, JUNEAU PARK, TELECOM ROCKET, WAR OF COURAGE, VALIANT DREAM, SUPERICH, PICKEN, TOYCOON, BAND OF BROTHERS, RIGHT CHOICE, SHINING ACE and COMPUTER PATCH revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of BREEZE OF SPRING, EVAN ALMIGHTY, PARTY EVERYDAY, FULL POWER, FAMILY LEADER, GOOD LUCK FRIEND, YEE CHEONG PEGASUS, HEZA BEAUTY, TUNG WAH GLORY, TRIPLE TRIPLE, PING HAI BRAVO, HAPPY TIME, MORE THAN A HORSE, LONDON HALL, ENRICHMENT, WELLINGTON, LARSON, GOLDEN SIXTY, PLAYA DEL PUENTE, ALL IN MIND, JOYFUL HEART, SEATTLE CHOICE and BUDDIES (22.3.20) proved negative.

Mongolian King accelerated brilliantly down the outside after a one-off run behind midfield to grab victory in the final few metres. He had been racing well and tipped his hat with a hard-charging second last start in his initial run on this surface. Kings Shield opened up by fourth lengths approaching the 200m after clearing Buddies for the front 1,200m from a wide gate but found one just too smart in the end. Buddies had his chance following a box-seat run but wasn't up to the challenge. He's honest as the day is long on either surface. Dances With Dragon nearly got up for a placing after settling fifth last in the run. It was an encouraging effort. Raging Blitzkrieg was on his tippy toes 100m out after tracking the leader one off the fence from a wide gate. He didn't disgrace but once again found things harder with a return to Class Two. Elite Patch made only a mild bid after travelling beyond midfield. He's not good enough at this level.
