Favourite Very Sweet Orange was too good after jumping swiftly as expected from gate four. He was well suited first time in Class Five but will need to lift in Class Four next time out. Carry To Win wore down Whistle Up to grab second following a box-seat run. He's overdue after coming up second best in six of his last eight starts. Whistle Up gradually faded after parking outside the winner. Specked late Showing Character just failed to get up for a placing after a three-deep run without cover worse than midfield. It was a reasonably good effort with a step back in distance after some decent form of late at a mile. Show Mission ran on without ever looking a threat from near the back. He's not genuine. Starlot ran on steadily without menacing following a midfield run. The step back to the 1,000m was too short after a last-start win. Peace On Earth was never a factor travelling second from the back. He got too far back in a leader's dominated race.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (696) - KAM TIN RIVER HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1000Meters

TRAVEL SUCCESSOR was withdrawn on 28.5.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (left fore medial suspensory branch injury) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter WHISTLE UP (Z Purton).

Before being allowed to race again, TRAVEL SUCCESSOR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

On jumping, PEACE ON EARTH raced tight inside VERY SWEET ORANGE which shifted in.

STRIKING MR C shifted out at the start and bumped SHOWING CHARACTER which was crowded for room inside CARRY TO WIN.

After the 600 Metres, SHOWING CHARACTER was left racing wide and without cover.

Approaching the 200 Metres, SHOW MISSION shifted in away from FIRST BEAUT and then passing the 150 Metres was shifted in further away from STRIKING MR C.

When SHOW MISSION shifted in, CAPTAIN BOSS was directed out away from the heels of that horse near the 50 Metres.

A veterinary inspection of PEACE ON EARTH and THE HAPPY BUNCH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, both horses were unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

VERY SWEET ORANGE and CARRY TO WIN were sent for sampling.
