Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Speedy King was too good after hitting the front 230m out travelling effectively one-out, one-back. He's proving to be an honest sprinter on both surfaces. Go Public stuck on well following a box-seat run. It was good debut run on this surface following a win two back over the 1,400m. Mr Picasso closed reasonably well following a one-off run in midfield. He's not the soundest of horses but is certainly capable when right. Plunged late Storm Signal wasn't beaten all that far in the end after working hard to settle one off in second entering the first bend. He has been threatening to salute on both surfaces but isn't anything special. Goldie Flanker ran on without menacing after his usual spot at the rear of the field. It wasn't a bad first run in the grade but he needs a faster pace. All Best Friends made some ground from behind midfield without threatening. He's likely on his mark following a last-start win. Lucky Dollar was a late withdrawal.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (693) - CHEUNG SHA HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

On arrival at the Start, T Berry expressed concern regarding the action of LUCKY DOLLAR.

LUCKY DOLLAR was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was lame in its right front leg and accordingly was not suitable to race.

Acting on this advice, LUCKY DOLLAR was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.

Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY DOLLAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Shortly after the start, MASSIVE POCKET and GO PUBLIC bumped, resulting in MASSIVE POCKET becoming unbalanced.

From wide barriers, BEAUTY ENERGY and GENEROUS HEART were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Making the first turn near the 700 Metres, BEAUTY ENERGY got its head on the side and lay in when awkwardly placed close to the heels of HEARTS KEEPER.

BEAUTY ENERGY then lay out making the turn after the 600 Metres.

Shortly after entering the Straight, STORM SIGNAL shifted in and bumped GO PUBLIC.

After the 50 Metres, STORM SIGNAL was momentarily awkwardly placed outside the heels of GO PUBLIC which drifted out under pressure.

When questioned, K C Ng (POSITIVELY HIGH) stated that after shifting his mount across towards the rail to follow MR PICASSO, he niggled POSITIVELY HIGH along in an endeavour to make up ground behind that horse after the 1000 Metres.

He said near the 900 Metres he noticed the rider of ALL BEST FRIENDS looking to shift in in front of POSITIVELY HIGH and behind MR PICASSO.

He said he believed he would have had to ride POSITIVELY HIGH aggressively in an endeavour to prevent ALL BEST FRIENDS from shifting in at this time and therefore he allowed ALL BEST FRIENDS to obtain the position in front of POSITIVELY HIGH as at this time he was racing in excess of a length behind that horse.

K C Ng was advised that his explanation would be reported, however, he was told to ensure that he always rides his mounts in such a manner so as to obtain advantageous positions.

A veterinary inspection of BEAUTY ENERGY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

SPEEDY KING and GO PUBLIC were sent for sampling.
