All Best Friends swooped down the outside after travelling third from the rear to nail Winning Supreme in the final few metres for an upset win. Winning Supreme nearly pulled it off after setting a genuine pace in front. It was a good run in defeat and he can shortly add to two earlier wins in Class Four. Speedy King stuck on all right for third after chasing the leader in a pleasing first run on this surface. He's no world beater but continues to be a nice money spinner for connections. Massive Pocket came on from midfield after jumping slowly to add further value to the Quartet . Travel Emperor stayed on without menacing following a midfield run. He's a Class Four animal. I'm The Conquist made some ground late without menacing after travelling second from the rear. He's shown hints of ability in his six starts but is likely a runner for next season. Raging favourite Elite Boy found nothing after being ridden early on to settle box seat.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (620) - STANLEY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

SIR REDALOT was withdrawn on 1.5.18 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter BEST STEP.

SUPER JUNIOR was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (fever).

Before being allowed to race again, SIR REDALOT and SUPER JUNIOR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

On arrival at the barriers, NUCLEAR POWER was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was lame in its right front leg and accordingly was not suitable to race.

Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of NUCLEAR POWER.

Before being allowed to race again, NUCLEAR POWER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

MASSIVE POWER was slow to begin.

Despite being ridden along in the early stages, I'M THE CONQUIST failed to muster speed.

For the majority of the race, BEST STEP travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.

A veterinary inspection of ELITE BOY immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.

A veterinary inspection of HAPPY METEOR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

ELITE BOY, ALL BEST FRIENDS and WINNING SUPREME were sent for sampling.

29 April 2018 Sha Tin Racemeeting - Race 10 (612) The Stewards tonight afforded J Moreira the opportunity to explain the disappointing performance of EASY GO EASY WIN.

J Moreira stated that he had to ride EASY GO EASY WIN for a short distance in the early stages to obtain a forward position and overcome barrier

He said after being ridden along, EASY GO EASY WIN then got its head up and travelled keenly for some distance approaching and passing the 1300 Metres as he allowed CIRCUIT HASSLER to cross in the hope that this would provide cover for EASY GO EASY WIN.

He said after that horse crossed to the rail he continued to steady EASY GO EASY WIN to allow MY ALLY to improve to his outside and he was then able to obtain cover behind that horse near the 1000 Metres.

He added he felt that EASY GO EASY WIN having to be ridden along and travelling too keenly in the early and middle stages had resulted in the horse not being able to finish off the race as he expected.

He said he had to shift out from behind MY ALLY at the 600 Metres as SIMPLY BRILLIANT was improving to his outside and he did not want to be caught in a pocket behind MY ALLY.

He said EASY GO EASY WIN gave him a limited response when placed under pressure in the early part of the Straight, however, at the 200 Metres the horse's run ended and it was then disappointing in the manner in which it failed to finish off the race.
