Racing Incident Report
Race Seven: (536) - HAWTHORN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
INFINITY ENDEAVOUR shifted in on jumping and hampered TRIUMPHANT JEWEL which lost ground.
From wide barriers, SUPER LEADER and SPRING WIN were steadied shortly after the start to obtain cover.
From the outside barrier, DARK KNIGHT was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Then in the middle stages, DARK KNIGHT became detached from the field and was eased down in the Straight.
A veterinary inspection of DARK KNIGHT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of DARK KNIGHT, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, DARK KNIGHT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Making the first turn after the 1100 Metres, BOLD STITCH and HARRIER JET raced tight.
After the 800 Metres, HARRIER JET was left racing wide and without cover.
Near the 150 Metres, SPARKLING DRAGON and BOLD STITCH raced tight.
Over the final 100 Metres, BOLD STITCH lay in under pressure.
Approaching the 50 Metres, CAPTAIN BOSS was steadied to avoid the heels of SUPER LEADER which improved to be racing inside the heels of SPARKLING DRAGON which, after racing tight inside BOLD STITCH, shifted in marginally.
CAPTAIN BOSS was then awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUPER LEADER over the concluding stages and consequently was not able to be ridden out.
SPARKLING DRAGON, INFINITY ENDEAVOUR and BOLD STITCH were sent for sampling.

Infinity Endeavour came on strongly travelling one off in midfield to get up 50m out to remain unbeaten in two runs over this Valley trip. He's ultra-consistent and should be able to make a name for himself in Class Two off a light weight. Bold Stitch just found one too good following a prominent run. It was another solid run on the back of back-to-back wins. Storm Signal assumed the lead 150m out following a box-seat run and just failed to hold off the Quinella pair. He's naturally coming to hand in his eight starts and isn't far off a winning run. Favourite Sparkling Dragon kept on one-paced over the last 100m stalking the pace after finding Healthy Luck too quick in a rush for the front. It wasn't a bad first run in Class Three and at the Valley after three solid Sha Tin efforts and he'll have better days going forward. Super Leader got going late to pick up a minor cheque after settling fourth from the rear. He isn't far off a bottom but needs to draw better.
