Racing Incident Report
Race Nine: (528) - SAPPHIRE HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1600Meters
JOLLY JOLLY was slow to begin.
DOYENI (D Whyte) began only fairly and shortly after the start was bumped by STAR MAJESTIC which shifted out.
When bumped by STAR MAJESTIC, DOYENI momentarily turned its head towards SIMPLY INVINCIBLE.
The Stewards interviewed D Whyte regarding this matter.
D Whyte stated that whilst DOYENI turned its head quickly to the left, he was not of the view that the horse attempted to savage SIMPLY INVINCIBLE in this incident.
The Stewards, having considered the matter, could not be satisfied that DOYENI had attempted to savage SIMPLY INVINCIBLE and accordingly no further action was taken.
Passing the 1500 Metres, SIMPLY INVINCIBLE went amiss in its left front leg and was retired out of the race.
Passing the 1300 Metres, SIMPLY BRILLIANT momentarily raced tight inside CITRON SPIRIT.
In the Straight, EASY GO EASY WIN raced greenly and shifted ground on a number of occasions.
A veterinary inspection of SERGEANT TITANIUM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.
SIMPLY BRILLIANT and EASY GO EASY WIN were sent for sampling.

Simply Brilliant came with a steady move following a prominent run with cover to get up 100m out for back-to-back wins despite a rise in class. He has the tools to win another in this grade. Easy Go Easy Win came on nicely from midfield to make it close on the wire. He's done very little wrong in his five starts and will be returning to the winner's circle shortly. Citron Spirit wouldn't go down without a fight after claiming the lead 300m out following a pace-stalking run. He's very honest over the mile trips. Specked late Eastern Express was yielding ground 100m out after having to work to lead from a wide gate. The big weight was too much of a hurdle. Keen Venture closed off all right after travelling third from the rear. He needs a stronger pace. Doyeni left things too late travelling second from the rear. The mile's too short. Simply invincible went amiss at the 1,300m.
