Veteran Sempiternal drew clear after rushing to the front 300m out following a prominent run. He relished the combination of a return to the AWT 1,800m and downgrade but will find it harder back in Class Four. Favourite Furious Pegasus zipped home from near last after peeling into open widest out soon after straightening to grab second in the final few metres. He did get a race run to suit but appears to have more points in hand after winning two of his opening four starts this term. Last-start winner Sweet Bean just held on for third after taking off fourth from the rear at the 550m. He has the ability to win another off his current mark on either surface over this trip and further. Double Point came on late near the inside after a patient ride at the rear of the field to just miss a placing. He doesn't have many points in hand but continues to race honestly on this surface. Gentlemen only plodded following a box-seat run to finish a distant fifth. He's limited.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (320) - CINERARIA HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1800Meters

DOUBLE POINT shifted in at the start and bumped CELESTIAL ARROW.

FIVE STARS AGENT began awkwardly and then despite being ridden along was slow to muster speed.

After initially being ridden along from a wide barrier, BEST EFFORT was steadied to obtain cover.

After initially being ridden along from a wide barrier, FURIOUS PEGASUS was steadied approaching the winning post on the first occasion to obtain cover after racing wide.

Despite being ridden along in the early stages, JIMSON THE FAMOUS failed to muster speed and near the 1200 Metres was left racing wide and without cover.

Passing the winning post on the first occasion, RHODE ASSASSIN was inconvenienced when racing tight between FIVE STARS AGENT and CELESTIAL ARROW.

Passing the 1500 Metres, CELESTIAL ARROW got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SEMPITERNAL.

Passing the 250 Metres, EQUITY DOCTRINE and FIVE STARS AGENT briefly raced in restricted room between RHODE ASSASSIN which was awkwardly placed inside the heels of SWEET BEAN and GENTLEMEN which got its head on the side and shifted out under pressure.

CELESTIAL ARROW, which was following, was shifted out away from the heels of FIVE STARS AGENT in consequence.

After the race, RHODE ASSASSIN was found to have shifted its right front plate and FURIOUS PEGASUS was displaying signs of "thumps?? After the race, K C Leung (WINNINGLI) reported that his mount did not travel well at any stage on today's track surface.

A veterinary inspection of WINNINGLI immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained a small wound over the left hind cannon.

Also after the race, O Doleuze stated that he was unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of EQUITY DOCTRINE.

He said he did make a recommendation to connections after the race that they consider giving the horse a brief let-up as EQUITY DOCTRINE raced "flat??today.

A veterinary inspection of EQUITY DOCTRINE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

SEMPITERNAL and FURIOUS PEGASUS were sent for sampling.
