Recap by phillip woo

Favourite Morethanlucky chased a solid pace one off in third from a wide gate, assumed the lead 250m out and drew clear to win in a Class Record time. He's really turned things around this season for his new trainer and looks ready to make the step into Class Three off a light weight. Ambitious Pins rallied from beyond midfield to grab second 100m out in his best run to date and appears to be near a winning run. Indigenous Star made a steady bid following a rail run in midfield. He rarely runs a bad race and will get his picture taken soon, if not in Class Five. Enormous Honour settled further back than expected from gate two and got going late without menacing. He's honest but has trouble winning. Charity Kingdom went better this time but did have his chance following a handy run from a wide draw. Plunged late Aeroluminance made some ground from the back without ever looking a threat.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (128) - H.

MOSER & CIE.

EXCELLENT HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1600Meters

MEISTERSTUECK, which was fractious in the barriers, bounded in the air at the start and made contact with the outside gate, resulting in the horse losing ground.

The performance of MEISTERSTUECK, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, MEISTERSTUECK will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

ASSOCIATION FANS began only fairly.

CHARITY KINGDOM shifted out at the start and inconvenienced WIN FOR CHARITY.

AEROLUMINANCE and FIRST FONTEIN were steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.

Approaching the 900 Metres, ENORMOUS HONOUR commenced to travel keenly.

After the 800 Metres, AEROLUMINANCE was left racing wide and without cover.

Approaching and passing the 600 Metres, TRIUMPHANT LIGHT got its head up when racing keenly.

Approaching the 350 Metres, CHARITY KINGDOM shifted out and brushed AMBITIOUS PINS.

Over the concluding stages, CHARITY KINGDOM was awkwardly placed outside the heels of INDIGENOUS STAR which got its head on the side and lay out.

When questioned, C Y Ho (WIN FOR CHARITY) stated that he had to make a considerable amount of use of his mount to obtain a forward position from the outside barrier.

He said he had to ride WIN FOR CHARITY along for some distance to cross MORETHANLUCKY to his inside and it was not until after the 1300 Metres that he was able to shift in to race outside TRIUMPHANT LIGHT.

He said at this time his mount was racing in advance of TRIUMPHANT LIGHT and he did not believe that it was available for him to steady WIN FOR CHARITY so as not to race in advance of that horse as WIN FOR CHARITY was travelling keenly.

He said although the tempo of the race was quicker than he had hoped, he believed it was in the best interests of WIN FOR CHARITY to allow that horse to gradually improve into the lead as TRIUMPHANT LIGHT was not being ridden along at this time.

He added after crossing TRIUMPHANT LIGHT into the outright lead, he commenced to gradually steady the tempo, however, when TRIUMPHANT LIGHT and MORETHANLUCKY improved to the outside of WIN FOR CHARITY, he did not continue to steady the tempo any further as he did not want to hand up the lead to those horses.

A veterinary inspection of ASSOCIATION FANS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.

A veterinary inspection of WIN FOR CHARITY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

MORETHANLUCKY and AMBITIOUS PINS were sent for sampling.
