Racing Incident Report
Race Seven: (115) - MEI ZHOU CITY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
WINNERS PIONEER, Standby Declared Starter, was withdrawn on 13.10.17 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (right front tendon injury).
Before being allowed to race again, WINNERS PIONEER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
AMAZING MOMENT began awkwardly, resulting in the horse beginning only fairly and then shortly after the start shifted out and bumped the hindquarters of PAKISTAN BABY which became unbalanced.
SPOTLIGHT DREAM blundered at the start.
STAR SUPERIOR shifted in and hampered HAPPY SURVEYS on jumping.
From the outside barrier, WAYFOONG VINNIE was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
After being left racing wide in the early stages, SPOTLIGHT DREAM was ridden along after the 1000 Metres to obtain the lead.
Passing the 900 Metres, LOTUS BREEZE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of KING MORTAR.
Making the turn near the 700 Metres, AMAZING MOMENT momentarily raced tight between NUCLEAR POWER and LOTUS BREEZE which shifted out.
For the majority of the race, NUCLEAR POWER travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of WAYFOONG VINNIE and ARIZONA BLIZZARD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
AMAZING MOMENT, SPOTLIGHT DREAM and KING MORTAR were sent for sampling.

Spotlight Dream rushed forward after a deep run in midfield from a wide gate to lead passing the 800m and kept on strongly to win his debut. He's got more points in hand on this surface. King Mortar cleared to lead early on from a wide gate and kept on gamely for second. He acts on both surfaces but seems to have more to offer on this surface off his current mark. Favourite Amazing Moment kept plugging away after making a steady bid from midfield 600m out following a sluggish break to make it close for second in a pleasing run despite a return to Class Three. Like to see him engage a claimer off a feather weight. Specked late Borntoachieve relished a return to the dirt after three dull runs as expected on the turf but did have every chance in the box-seat. Star Superior made some ground near the inside from beyond midfield. The rise in class was a bit too much to handle on this occasion but he should eventually make the grade.
