Favourite Pingwu Spark took control 150m out after chasing the leader Mythical Emperor after a tardy break to build on a smart debut second in June. He's got the tools to head a lot higher and should get up to a mile with more time and experience. Mythical Emperor led as expected and kept on well for second to live up to a smart trial. He's likely on or near a bottom and will be hard to run down when next stepping out. Apollo's Choice just got the bob down for third after travelling one off the fence worse than midfield carrying top weight to continue his consistent form from late last season. He acts on both surfaces which give his connections options. Daring Fit made a steady bid after a midfield run following a sluggish break to finish a clear-cut fourth. It was a good effort in his first run back following a May trial with blood in his trachea. Happy Happy Star only plodded with every chance chasing the speed.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine: (27) - CHAOZHOU HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

MR POTENTIAL, PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT and PINGWU SPARK began only fairly.

DARING FIT began awkwardly.

MYTHICAL EMPEROR shifted in at the start, resulting in OUR FOLKS being inconvenienced.

From the outside barriers, ROYAL MOJITO and G-ONE LOVER were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Near the 1050 Metres, BORNTOACHIEVE was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of HAPPY HAPPY STAR which was steadied to obtain a trailing position behind PINGWU SPARK.

When being steadied to obtain cover approaching and passing the 1000 Metre, G-ONE LOVER got its head up on a number of occasions.

An inquiry into the reason for OUR FOLKS being hampered near the 850 Metres was adjourned until a date to be fixed as H W Lai, the rider of G-ONE LOVER, was transported to hospital due to a subsequent incident.

K Teetan (OUR FOLKS) was charged with breaching Rule 100(1)] of careless riding in that near the 650 Metres he failed to take sufficient measures to prevent his mount from shifting in which resulted in ROYAL MOJITO being checked when crowded inside OUR FOLKS.

K Teetan pleaded not guilty to the charge.

After considering further submissions from Jockey Teetan, the Stewards formed the view that he should be afforded the benefit of the doubt in respect of OUR FOLKS being steadied away from the heels of G-ONE LOVER at the relevant time and therefore the charge of careless riding issued against Jockey Teetan was not sustained.

However, K Teetan was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he makes sufficient endeavours to prevent his mounts from shifting ground and causing interference.

After the 600 Metres, RADIANT TREASURE got its head on the side and lay out towards the heels of PINGWU SPARK, resulting in RADIANT TREASURE being awkwardly placed inside that horse.

An inquiry into the reason for H W Lai being dislodged from G-ONE LOVER near the 550 Metres was adjourned until a date to be fixed due to H W Lai being transported to hospital.

When H W Lai was dislodged as a result of G-ONE LOVER blundering, OUR FOLKS, PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT and ROYAL MOJITO were all severely checked.

After this, ROYAL MOJITO was eased down.

A veterinary inspection of ROYAL MOJITO immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Having regard to ROYAL MOJITO?�s beaten margin, the Stewards ruled that the horse must trial competitively and be subjected to an official veterinary examination prior to being permitted to race again.

After the race, APOLLO?�S CHOICE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse had sustained a small wound above the inside of the left hock.

A veterinary inspection of G-ONE LOVER immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained small wounds inside the right front cannon and the right hock.

Before being allowed to race again, G-ONE LOVER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

PINGWU SPARK and MYTHICAL EMPEROR were sent for sampling.
